I have been thinking about this since the Canucks signed Boudreau and now Rutherford - which direction do they take? Guys coming up for contracts in the next year or so: Boeser JT Miller Horvat I don't see them having room for all three and currently the top 9 looks like this: ( not necessarily what line they play on but depth wise) Boeser Petey Miller Garland Horvat Pearson Podz Dickinson Hoglander Personally in the next year or so I think Podz might be top six and hell even Hogs cause the kid plays bigger than his size (Josh Morrissey can confirm this :P) So who is the expendable one if you are Rutherford and might bring back the best haul? Bo and JT are both the type of players you win cups with - I love Brock but that new contract might not work and while I understand those who want to trade Miller he has contract certainty for another year - same with Bo. If next year we aren't where we need to be we move him and sign Bo. So for me that begs the question - what do we want back from a trade of Boeser - my first choice is a RD as I think Garland will replace his goal scoring along with Podkolzin/Hoglander. So CDC your thoughts on if I am out to lunch on this and what would you do or if you agree who do we trade Brock for?

As I have said before I think Travis did a great job developing the young talent on this team but lacks the skill to push them to the next level - he was an AHL coach in an NHL town. He will bounce back as an assistant or associate coach somewhere just thankfully not here
