  1. Bringing in Keith does nothing to address the leadership issue then they add Kane - speaks volumes right there.
  2. As I have said before I am ok keeping the 15th overall and taking Pickering if he is available.
  3. I will be honest - Dobson is exactly the type of guy we need to play with Hughes. Not sure Boeser and Rathbone get it done.
  4. Am I the only one eyeing Owen Pickering at 15? I know we need a R D Man but this kid might be the best defenseman to come out of this draft.
  5. Big fan of Luneau and think he is exactly what we need draft wise if he is there when we pick.
  6. Two I could see fitting this bill are: Scott Mayfield from the Islanders and Josh Manson - only way I see Manson coming here is if we move Myers
  7. Another team that will see cap issues next year is Calgary - Gaudreau, Tkachuk and Mangaipane all need contracts. We need to build a contender smartly and as cost effective as possible - other wise you end up like the Coilers with lots of firepower but very questionable goaltending.
  8. First off I like Tyler Myers but I agree he needs to be moved and replaced with Manson. RHD is our biggest need and let's be honest - that won't be fixed via the draft based on our draft position. Not if we plan to contend in 2 years.
  9. As you can guess by my user name my hockey hero Mike Bossy has passed away at the age of 65: https://www.sportsnet.ca/nhl/article/islanders-icon-mike-bossy-one-of-nhls-greatest-scorers-dead-at-65/ Mike Bossy, a New York Islanders legend who was one of the NHL's all-time greatest goal scorers, has died. He was 65. His passing was announced by the Islanders on Friday. In October, Bossy revealed he had been diagnosed with lung cancer. The Montreal native was one of the biggest stars of the Islanders dynasty of the early 1980s, winning four Stanley Cups from 1980-83. Over his 10-season career, Bossy scored less than 50 goals only once — in his final campaign before his career was cut short at age 30 by a hip injury — and he scored more than 60 goals five times. With 572 goals in just 752 games, Bossy's 0.76 goals per game is the highest mark in NHL history, ahead of contemporaries Mario Lemieux and Wayne Gretzky. Bossy was a eight-time All-Star, won the Calder Trophy as rookie of the year, the Conn Smythe trophy as playoff MVP and three times won the Lady Byng Award for sportsmanship. He retired after the 1986-87 season and was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1991. After retiring he worked as an NHL broadcaster in English and French media. "The New York Islanders organization mourns the loss of Mike Bossy, an icon not only on Long Island but across the entire hockey world," Islanders general manager Lou Lamoriello said in a statement. "His drive to be the best every time he stepped on the ice was second to none. Along with his teammates, he helped win four straight Stanley Cup championships, shaping the history of this franchise forever. On behalf of the entire organization, we send our deepest condolences to the entire Bossy family and all those who grieve this tragic loss."
  10. Man a sad day NYI and NHL legend Mike Bossy has passed away :(

  11. Was thinking the same thing - best scenario is we move him to a team who wants a one year push to go deep in the playoffs next year. At this point I would be happy to recoup a 1st and a prospect for him at the draft.
  12. He's no Jay Woodcroft (second coming of Scotty Bowman here in Edmonton) - he did a hell of a job and I think he deserves at least one mroe season to see what he can do with this team.
  13. Tend to agree - was a great run (other than losing in the Superbowl to the Pats) but time for a rebuild - Metcalfe brings back a huge haul as would Lockett. Time to move on from Pete as well and usher in a new era.
  14. Man I remember how depressed I was after 86 when we couldn't even score a goal - looking so forward to Qatar!!! Love the state of soccer in Canada these days!!!!
  15. Gotta love that Edmonton's playoff hopes ride on Koskkinen and Smith and a rookie goalie - remind me again what a genius Holland is lol.
  16. Broncos just became my 2nd Fav Team after the 'hawks now Hope Russ can bring them a Super Bowl and the 'hawks can turn these picks into something big
  17. Not sure if anyone saw some of the post game video but watched this one on McDavid - not sure if he was going to cry or not but man - not really speaking like a Captain is he? Love the part when he is asked about play in their own end and he says "We're back on this" - good thing they have Kane and his "leadership" to lean on when needed. https://www.nhl.com/oilers/video/post-raw--mcdavid-030522/t-277437406/c-10813382
