  1. I think Boeser is the odd man out. He’s also a good fit for Chicago.
  2. This is dumb. Dubas is not the problem. He pulled multiple rabbits out of hats. Players are to blame.
  3. TOTALLY AGREE! People on here act like the moment you turn 29 that your skates fall off and you become an anchor to your team... Dallas has 8 players on their regular roster 30 or older Florida is young and only has 4 Carolina has 8 as well Vegas? 10! Canucks current roster? 3 players 30 or older. If anything these playoffs show that you cannot win with youth alone and still need some savvy vets, which you can either A. Overpay in Free agency, or B. Take on as a reclamation project and help them regain form. OEL needed a steady RHD partner that can skate... Enter Hronek. I am very bullish on that combo going into next season.
  4. Ha! I like the analogy. I disagree though. I’m calling it…. Canucks are a playoff team next season.
  5. Just as the title says. Would Arizona consider a 1 for 1 swap. Crouse brings something the Canucks sorely need in middle six physicality. Boeser outscores Crouse and has a higher ceiling. They are only 4 months apart in age. Boeser reunited with Schmaltz would be a great opportunity for him to regain his confidence. Seeing these playoffs really is a reminder that the Canucks need some more size.
  6. I believe this isn't a matter of Oilers losing, but more of a Vegas winning situation. Vegas played hard, had several players level up their game and pull through when needed. Oilers are an incredible team, they just ran into a powerhouse that came together perfectly. Edmonton is not like Toronto, the team is well built. They just need a couple of bounces and a few guys to step up at key moments.
  7. I can see something around 11th for Laf or Kakko.
  8. Mithckov will drop to 11th. Draft him. Sneak him out of Russia.
  9. Great interview. Really liked the insights. Looks like Hughes is the front runner for the C. I suspected Petey or Miller, but hearing how Huggy wants to improve and shows the commitment, I am 100% ok with him getting the C. Comments on Brock make me think they are going to let him work it out. He better have a good off season and come to camp hungry and in shape. If i were Brock i'd get back to Vancity weeks earlier and show the commitment. Actions speak loudly with this regime it seems. The leadership discussion was interesting. I suspected they were missing loud glue guys that hold the team accountable. I'd be happy if they could find a hard-nosed veteran this summer. Would love it if they could move a few wingers and find a way to get O'Reilly as the 3C. Even getting a guy like Erik Johnson or bring back Schenn.
  10. If they are being paid by a US corp for endorsement, then they could likely do this. If it's local car dealers and such, probably gets flagged by CRA. Athletes have incredibly complicated tax structures as they "earn" in every state/province they play a game in. Must be a nightmare and likely requires some expensive accountants that only focus on athletes.
  11. I am guessing $85M over 8 with a signing bonus structure to minimize taxes. Full NMC for the first 6, modified for the last 2 (10 team list.) $10.625 cap it. Worth it.
  12. Agreed. Thats the most logical fit in my mind. Especially if Landeskog can't get healthy.
  13. Cursed organization: https://www.sportsnet.ca/hockey/nhl/former-coyotes-co-owner-george-gosbee-dies/?sn-amp
  14. After watching Bedard live on Saturday night. I think the Canucks need to sign Rhett Parsons. RHD opened the scoring and smothered Bedard for the entire night. Connor was fuming and it showed. Tigers waltzed to a 7-0 win.
  15. I agree with you. I like Joshua a lot. He brings some snarl that we've been starving for.
  16. Took some time to digest this. The take "Canucks are a bottom 5 team, why are they trading picks??" isn't accurate in my opinion. The other bottom feeders don't have what the Canucks have in Petey, Hughes and Demko. They may have 2 of 3 key positions but not 3 of 3. This team underperformed in a major way due to: A. Construction of the D B. Demko going down - which previously covered up A C. Team chemistry and structure - Boudreau has never been known for his D structure Keeping our top pick and dealing the Islanders pick to address the teams biggest need a young reliable RHD, will make this team better next year and help address A. Demko back and hopefully healthy addresses B. and C has been addressed (hopefully) with the new Coaching regime. Canucks still need to rework team Chemistry, but thats an offseason move. The draft pick will be a good one and could step in right away filling a C hole. I want the Canucks to start winning and be competitive. So a trade for Hronek is ok with me. I like the lottery magic beans of draft picks, it's fun for us fans, but i'd prefer a team that can legitimately play competitive hockey.
