  1. i don't think any of the offer was anywhere even close to 7mil till like mid nov early december when he was already on his hot streak.. considering what they have been paying boeser on his bridge and what he just got now.. anything less than boeser is a joke and i would decline it too. boeser didn't earn his 5.8 cap hit on his previous contract nor his current 6.75 or whatever it's at.. and both are higher than horvat's current contract.. and i mean is he playing more offensive?? his shots attempt per game is almost identical to years past. he's just hitting the target more often.. horvat took the save gamble.. no matter what happens during the season there's no way he would get an offer in the UFA less than what JR offered him prior to the season start basically anything canucks were offering he can easily do better on the UFA i don't blame him for that they want him to take a good 20% less than market so they can continue overpaying anchors in other position.
  2. Ya I dunno what’s wrong with our pk.. I mean even the next worse team is no where close to us and a clear 6% ahead of us lol. It’s crazy..
  3. It’s insane Arizona with just as bad defence and if not worse team gets a 46 save shutout SO win against the back to back to back sc finalist and we can’t even get a good goaltending performance almost the entire season baffling. Don’t think any of our goalie legitimately stood on their head and stole a win this season. They came close but don’t think there was a win that it was all because of the goalies
  4. ya all i see is EP have a bunch of points but he's been +/- 0 or - in all the games so far hence i asked and most of his points ain't on PP either so whatever he scores on 5v5 they give it right back up
  5. haven't really watched much of any of the games since tochette have taken over.. but looking at stats EP seems to be struggling 5v5 ever since tochette have taken over and horvat traded? he's been a -5 since horvat is gone. he's been on the ice for 10 goals against 5v5 since horvat is gone. that's an alarming number of goals against in the 5 games prior to this one and 2 more tonight. RT is wrecking our alien 5v5
  6. I really don’t see the reason to break up ep and kuzmenko literally the only guy that have worked all season and then bench kuzmenko while others continue whatever the hell they are doing. They just signed kuz to 5.5mil and RT already stuck him in the doghouse. Kuz defensive play was and is not the issue. Trying to fit square pegs in round holes again
  7. Management wants to sabotage EP production so they can lowball him in the summer. It’s all part of the greater scheme
  8. Imagine first nhl game gets tossed behind an echl defence so you can get lit up like a Xmas tree.. we did the same thing with Mikey D and it pretty much destroyed him after he was doing well in the juniors. The management and coaches sure knows what they are doing.
  9. You went thru the original thread the 500+ pages to look? Prolly be a lot easier to just Google search and it’ll just pop up. Regardless of that.. you really believe bo was looking for millers money prior to the season start? Bo prolly was waiting for a fair offer the entire summer and they didn’t even bother negotiating with him at all until mid September until after miller was signed. They showed how much they wanted Horvat.. and no miller contract at the time have no effect on Horvat negotiation if they were planning to re sign both. Unless you believe Horvat wants a matching contract of millers. They pretty much wasn’t planning on negotiating with Horvat until they sign miller. There’s no way Horvat or his agent was looking at more than kadri landeskog etc prior to the start of the season as comparable. After the start of the season and the pace he was on sure but prior?
  10. washington is prolly done with ovi gone for at least couple of weeks likely with the death of his father.. getting in and out of russia itself is a headache seeing how there's no direct flight so it would prolly take him couple days just to get back to russia deal with his father and then get back to north america.
  11. alf hates anything not canucks.. any player not on the canucks are busteraoo overpaid fat lazy ass mofos that don't deserve to be in the league. and i admire his dedication
  12. seravalli reported multiple other "insider" reported.. i have no clue how to embed twitter.. u can find it all over twitters or even in the horvat thread.. "the offer in the summer was exactly the rnh 8x5.125" it's literally been talked about for the longest time back in september.. and again brought up in december.. again you can choose whether to believe it or not since a lot of people on this board claims every single insider is an idiot, liar, no source etc and just trying to gas light the management just like what they did in the boudreau situation.
  13. Again I’m not blaming or whining about bo leaving for money. the management already made it clear they don’t care if he stays or not with the contract offers that were made prior to the start. Low 5s is an insult I don’t care how you look at it. Again if they offered him between 6.5-7 deals done. Would he leave money on the table? Who know he might if he gotten a legitimate offer to begin with instead of a pay cut. Maybe he would have taken 6.5 if the management was serious instead of being a joke.
  14. i don't expect huge numerical improvement but i expect slight improvement now that we have a "structure" in place. we are still giving up the exact same if not worse high danger chance as prior to changes with less shots attempt against.. with more blocked shot and less shots against should = lower high danger chance against right? even if it's just 10% less on average?
  15. sure but horvat and mikheyev in your lineup u ain't all of a sudden going to go from giving up 4.375+ goals per game to under 3. all i'm saying is the so call structure have nothing to do with this team being horrible defensively.. it's the lack of players that are capable of playing defense on this team bring in barry trotz while we sitll hav ehorvat and mik we'd probably still be as bad.
  16. good to see boudreau with no structure gives up an average of 4.08 goals per game and tochette with his system and structure is giving up only 4.375 goals per game. playing with no structure definitely is the reason why our player sucked so bad defensively.. we have been giving up just as much high danger chance with less shots against and more blocked shots lol.. before every 3rd shot is like a high danger chance.. now every other shot is a high danger chance against.
  17. did landeskog leave a lot of money on the table?? no not really.. at the time it was widely speculated he would command about 8mil in the open market. if landeskog would have signed for example 8mil in new york.. he would get about 300k more per season 7 years would get him around 28.7mil.. vs if he signed in colorado at 7mil for 8 years he would have gotten 31mil take him pay.. and if he signed for 7 years he would have gotten 1.5mil less.. so yes players would leave money on the table to help a cup contending team long term if it make sense financially in colorado's case it does as 1mil in cap but hardly any difference in take home pay for the player. this have nothing to do with the team isn't very good so i'll gouge them... not willing to take a discount doesn't mean they are gouging the team. if your work place is negotiating a contract with you and they start you off with a paycut.. how likely are you going to want to continue negotiating let alone give them a discount to extend after being insulted with a paycut? prolly unlikely?? or people will say you get paid millions so suck it up... plenty of company loses contract over small amounts all the time over the negotiation process.. that's just how human nature is.. you get insulted you are less likely to budge.
  18. there are plenty of reports out there prior to the season start the starting offer for horvat started in the low 5s and a few reporting RNH contract. even if it's not the RNH contract low 5s basically paycut or no raise... i dont think Bo at any point deserves a starting offer less than what he was making.. starting offer at 6 would have been reasonable.. low 5 is a straight insult.. don't even care if that's a negotiation tactic.. if that's the case did they go up to miller in the summer and start with an offer with no raise and tell him we'll give u a contract based on what you have accomplished prior to your outbreak? again they didn't offer that to him prior to the season. they offered that to him after his hot start, why would he accept it at that point when he might as well continue playing and see if he can get more if he continues to do well which he did.. and you can't compare landeskog contract.. he took a discount on a team that's on the cupse of being a perennial cup contender.. meanwhile the canucks are on the cupse of NHL no mans land.. yearly not good enough for the playoff.. not bad enough for the lottery. if they offered him 7mil x 7 or 8 at the start of the season? he probably would have taken it.. they offered that to him after his value gone up of coz he's going to say no. the management showed him no respect.. why bother with giving them a discount? he's going to get his pay whether it's canucks or elsewhere.. and if elsewhere he might actually get a chance to prove himself he's more than just a 2C if given the opportunity just like Miller have. if we are using landeskog as the standard for contract.. then JT shouldn't be worth more than Landeskog either... did NYI overpaid? for sure.. bo probably would have only gotten 7.5-8mil in ufa and probably just 7 years too.. only reason NYI overpaid? coz they can't afford to have bo walk into ufa.. bo have no ties with the team or the city so he probably wasn't even planning on signing there in the first place till they gave him such a huge contract. it's a gamble but the consequence is not as big as u make it out to be. in couple years if the cap goes up 3-5mil every year.. the extra 1mil they paid bo wouldn't make a difference.
  19. if the management offered anything close to 7mil 6.75 even the deal probably would have been done. fact of the matter is they never even offered him anything close to 6.. he's gone whatever if Miller continues to play like he is the next couple season no complaints, but we all saw how great he was after the coaching change last season and then came out the way he did this season so there's that worry.
  20. there's literally no way Demko would get you an unprotected lottery pick.. Schneider got us a 9th overall.. and Schneider at that time is >>> Demko.. in the 3 seasons he's like avg low 2.0 in gaa and in the mid 920s in sv%.. let alone coming off a surgery in the off season and another injury mid season.. for all we know his poor play might have to do with his undisclosed knee surgury in the offseason.. teams would really have to be desperate for a goalie to risk trading for demko who still have 3 years at 5mil.. it would be a massive gamble to pray he comes back to form. if Demko proves he's back in form in the remaining of the season? maybe they'll consider next years 1st... i don't see any scenario ottawa gives up a pretty much guaranteed top 10 lottery pick for a goalie let alone add a B prospect on top
  21. lol i should have said he doubles/triples the takeaway of Bo and almost double the giveaway of any forwards on the team.. when you are leading the team in giveaway as a forward?? something is not right.. when the league leader is literally all defenceman in giveaways.. on the team yearly.. this is literally the only season the forwards other than JT is giving away the puck as often.. majority of them they are under 0.5 giveaway per game.. and for whatever it's worth the last 3 years combined including this one.. the team scored 155 goals when Miller is on the ice.. by comparison when horvat is on the ice the team scored 140 goals.. this is just even strength.. not a whole lot of difference.. but they've given up 159 goals when miller is on the ice vs 140 when horvat is on the ice.. i didn't include PK otherwise that gap is even bigger.. in the last 4 seasons Miller when on the ice is at 3.56 ga/60 vs 3.1 ga/60 for bo. but it must be everyone else fault because Miller is doing his job defensively hitting and blocking shots right? and it's not all about stats.. it's about the bloody eye test. Miller have been one of the worse if not the worse forward defensively out of the top 6... he was bad enough to be removed as a center.. bad enough to be removed as the primary PK center.. no one said anything about Miller is trash and Bo is god. offensively Miller is slightly better as he can pass and shoot where bo is only a good shooter not so much a passer.. Defensively Bo ain't great but he's much more reliable than Miller.. how many overtime game this year did Miller get little to no minutes in OT? plenty.. that's how much of a liability he is when you have to bench one of ur better offensive player in OT. do i want either player at their new cap hit? no.. but if they would have actually negotiated with bo back in the summer and got him to sign at 7mil or sub 7? i would have taken bo over Miller any day.. not because miller is trash.. it's HE DOESN'T FIT THIS TEAMS BLOODY TIMELINE.. whether it's a retool or rebuild.. by the time we wait out the myers the pearson the whatever else contracts Miller will be 31 turning 32 in the season.. so why are we paying top money for a guy that just doesn't fit the timeline of the team? we are really paying 8mil for a guy to mentor the "kids". If they moved Miller last year i have no issue with them moving Bo too this year.. but keeping Miller and then moving bo for a retool makes absolutely no sense and should have been the other way around. Horvat at least can play matchup or shutdown if he's not the top line.. Miller can't exactly play that role if the plan was for EP to take over as the 1C. doesn't really matter what Miller brings to the table if he can't be trusted to be on the ice with the game on the line.. he was like that under green he was like that under boudreau. of coz maybe tochette can get thru to him and Miller becomes better consistently. so far he looked good that block shot at the end of the game was great but will he do it consistently moving forward remains to be seen. it might be just him trying to impress the new coaching staff so they get off his ass about his lazy giveaways and defence prior to tochette, but if he can do that consistently and stop throwing tantrums on the ice? then he can shut me up as there wouldn't be any bones for me to pick on.
  22. how is he not a liability if he's not scoring? being agressive in the offensive zone only? great he has more takeaways only double to triple the giveaways yearly.. and good chunk of his giveaways are grade A chance the other way more often than not ends up being in our net.. there are lots of centers that play the top 2 line doesn't hit either? so are we going to call bergeron not effective because he barely hits too? he has 5 more hits than bo. and in general the 3rd and 4th liners centers will have more hits than the top 2 line centers as they are suppose to be grinding and pinning teams in their own zone. how often do you see the center charge in and hit someone on the forecheck? that's usually the wingers job.. there are lots of center on the top 2 line in the league that doesn't have much hits it's not just bo.
  23. wtf are u talking about i'm talking about he has 65 total points in his career at 20 and wtf does his cap hit have to do with whether or not RATY IS GOING TO BE A BETTER PLAYER THAN BO? lmao 15-20g regular season beau? he has 12 goals last season lol.. team must be lining up to take pearson for 1st rounders next season goodrow and coleman is not even the same as beau.. they can pot in 30points hit and block.. beau doesn't hit doesn't block isn't good defensively lol.. not even comparable other than points..
  24. based on what? horvat already have 65 points in the nhl at 20, and is a consistent 50+ point guy since with goals/game increasing almost every single season.. potential doesn't mean jack sh!t.. Raty have the potential to be as good as Bo if not better.. POTENTIAL.. the way you are saying is like Raty will guarantee be better than bo.. funny how many prospect have higher potential than Bo and all turned into nothing? lots.. and keep dreaming if you think anyone will give u a late 1st rounder for a 30point guy..
