  1. i don't see why Devils would make that trade right now. they are top 10 in scoring and top 6 in defence atm. scoring have never been an issue for the devils right up until hughes was injured last year and i don't see that being an issue again this year. they just need to keep the puck out of the net and so far they are doing that. their goal is to squeak into the playoff so why would they break up whats working for something that they don't need? can they afford to lose severson for nothing? they probably can given the amount of prospect they have. if they really want a boeser say next season.. i'm sure they can easily get him from the canucks for pennies on the dollar.
  2. Not only the season but the future of this core. Trading Horvat there’s simply no way in hell the Canucks can replace a 2c and find a capable 3c within the next couple years of whatever remains of Millers prime. Also there’s 0 indication miller would be able to find chemistry with EP again. Otherwise they would have been back together already. I’ve said it if we move Horvat, Miller will have to go as well and we go full rebuild.. and if that’s the plan.. better do it now so we can tank the rest of the season for best chance at a top pick rather than wait till TDL and then end up with a middle of the back 12-16 pick
  3. He hasn’t looked good ever as a center ever. He puts up the production but his defensive side is non existent it’s only whenever he feels like it which is like 10% of the time. those that were arguing bo is worth less than 6.5 coz he’s a 3c so does that change now because he’s technically the 1c? As long as miller is on his line he’s going to be considered the 1c. EP is more the 2c atm
  4. Can’t say I’ve given up when I didn’t have any hopes of this team being competitive based on the summer of changes. Last year I said we are not good enough and replied on Demko to stand on his head every night and this year it’s the same any drop off we are in trouble as seen so far. I rather the team do the right thing and build towards a contender rather than being delusional and keep on retooling forever and hoping we will be a contender one day. Nothing wrong with that
  5. lol did u really have to quote me with the same reply 3x and add an extra word or 2 each time
  6. Well Reinhardt actually earned his 3 year deal he signed. Not so much brock who’s been mediocre for a while now and when he signed his deal. No team is going to take a gamble on a 2+ year deal including the current year on a project hoping he can regain his form or they are f for years
  7. If they are short by a little maybe they’ll increase the cap maybe not the full 4-4.5 but maybe 2.5-3 who knows.. but regardless this benefits Horvat not so much the team. He could easily hold out wait and see the cap situation and get a higher pay whether it’s Vancouver or elsewhere
  8. i'm not sure if we can move boeser at this point without retaining or adding a sweetener.. it's probably something i don't want to see the team do.. so i prefer them trying to move pearson and offload poolman on ltir.. and if that doesn't work consider moving garland.. basically anything to make sure we dont have to add or retain.. moving garland would hurt a little.. but we are pretty deep on the wing and hopefully we can re-sign kuz to a reasonable number. although hoglander and podz production again this season is a little concerning.
  9. https://www.nhl.com/news/nhl-salary-cap-could-increase-by-at-least-4-million-in-2023-24/c-336522332 consider they made more than half a billion more than what they were expecting i think it's reasonable to expect the same if not higher this season so good chance it'll go up, and for sure the following season
  10. bettman himself couple weeks ago? he literally said there's a good chance the players could finish off paying off the escrow this season well ahead of schedule and the cap could go up 4mil or more.. because of that horvat's agent might be wise to advise horvat to hold off on any extension. if u trade bo u have to trade miller too and prolly go straight into a rebuild.. there's simply 0 chance this team will be competitive enough during whatever's left of Miller's prime if you move bo and leave a gapping hole down the middle.. move bo.. you don't have a 2c.. with EP as your 1c and miller on the wing.. u don't have a 3c either.. and of coz they can keep both.. they just have to figure out how to move out the last year of pearson move poolman or figure out how to move one of boeser/garland.
  11. problem is given how bad this team looks at time.. and the great start horvat is off to.. would he even agree to 7M anymore.. it would have been a no brainer back in the summer.. now i dunno anymore.. and given the rumor the cap is expected to go up 3-4mil next season. his agent might be telling him to wait as there's no rush to re-sign as based on his play so far this season mind you very small sample size his value have only gone up and not down.
  12. lol so that'll leave us with no 2c and we already don't have a 3c and losing a top 6 winger. JR/PA betted on Miller to be the 1c so they could move horvat if needed.. well looks like they betted wrong and we have nothing worth while to trade for a rhd.. if u move horvat for RHD.. that leaves even more holes than before with missing a 1c or 2c whatever u wanna call horvat and a 3c.. unless miller magically starts playing like a center which if you watch all his games.. hes always playing near the wing.. and as a center.. your responsibility should be first forward back and last forward out of the defensive zone.. he's always been last forward back first forward out.. if horvat doesn't re-sign and is traded.. this team gotta look at asking miller to move and go on a full rebuild.. i've seen enough of Miller the past 3 season as a center to know he's not a real center.. with horvat gone this team doesnt even have 2 capable top 6 center.. and doesn't even have a center over 50% in the faceoff.
  13. Boeser will not be long gone unless the canucks are planning to retain 50% of his salary or attach 1st + if we have to attach a 1st or retained 50% I rather get rid of JR/PA for signing that contract in the first place lol
  14. i mean i always expected them to negotiate with miller first see how that goes make a decision early say august and then move on to bo.. i don't think Bo and his agent was expecting the starting offer to be even less than what he's making now if the rumors were true and prolly find it a little insulting by the management. prolly expecting more of a 6mil starting offer and they counter with 8 and prolly meet somewhere in the middle. everything is aligning nicely for Bo.. he gets elevated to the 1c role he's off to a great start.. he's the only center on the team with decent amount of faceoff that's even over 50%. he's going to get his payday whether it's vancouver or not. if bo is smart he'd prolly cut off contract negotiation till the end of the season as it'll force vancouver's hand.. either they trade him at the TDL. to probably a contender. and if he's not traded at the TDL they prolly have to give in to his demands as they can't afford to let him walk for free.
  15. if JR/PA starts trading 1st rounders.. what difference is he from benning.. if it's top 5 protected i considered.. but there's 0 chance. not even 0.000000000001% chance nyi would consider. boeser doesn't help the islander.. rathbone won't crack the islander top 6 .. the 1st won't help anytime soon.. islander isn't planning on rebuilding
  16. ya at this point i'm not even sure what to do with Bo.. the Miller camp kept saying Miller is the 1c all summer and Bo is a 3c.. and now that Miller have to be put on Bo's wing to get him going and with decent result. does that make bo the 1c? or does that make miller a 2w lol. at this moment i think Bo is the 1c on this team the way he's deployed now that Miller is out of the picture as a center. i mean he gotta be 1c right? to justify paying miller 8mil as a winger? i was in the sign Bo for 7mil all summer long but JR/PA wanna play hardball and starts the negotiation with a lowball using RNH as a comparison. if you want to call Horvat a 3c? sure but the difference between horvat and RNH? horvat is a matchup 3c that goes against other teams top player. RNH is just a 3c.. he doesn't play the matchup role or a shutdown role.. he's literally just a 3c.. Oiler don't really have a matchup line that's mcdavid or draisaitl. it's funny Horvat agent called Horvat more of a 1c lol now he's really being played as a 1c because of the miller situation. let say Horvat is at around the 30ish goals by the TDL which is very reasonable if he stays healthy and assuming Miller stays as a wing the rest of the way. he'll prolly end up in the 35-40 goals range by the end of the season.. do we now trade Horvat? or what do we do with him? let say he hits 40.. his agents going to be looking at 8+.. and i can care less what some of you think he's worth.. a 40 goal scorer in this league regardless of how he gets the goal whether it's pp 5v5 etc while playing a matchup role and hitting his prime is easily worth 8mil+ on the market. if we move horvat then we don't even have a 1/2c we don't have a 3c we don't have a rhd etc etc the hole gets even bigger might as well move everyone else for a full rebuild. i think JR/PA misplayed their hand with horvat's negotiation.. prolly coulda gotten it done at around 6.75-7 in the summer.. but depending on how horvat continues the season.. might be looking at 8+ with the cap expected to go up 3-4mil. ya we can move a boeser.. but stop being delusional thinking you can move 2 years of boeser @ 6.75mil for 2nds rhd prospects etc while constantly calling him trash and useless.. if Boeser is as trash as you guys say he is.. he's going to cost you a 1st rounder + just to move 2 years of him.
  17. negative value minimal value and a 1st for dobson? lol
  18. I’m sure there’s enough tapes out there for their scouts to see what the fans see. Especially on a guy that cost 6.75mil you think their scouts will be going thru multiple years worth of tape scouting report to catch up. No one is going to take a boeser at TDL because he’s not a rental. The team would literally have to sacrifice 6.75mil for 2 more years. The only way boeser move without as attaching or retaining is when there’s 1 year left. Other than that unlikely boeser have any interest around the league.
  19. So how do you propose we *dump* boeser? Attach a 1st round pick? No one will touch that even with a 1st rounder with 2more years after this. Like you guys keep saying how bad useless etc he is.. so other teams are blind? They don’t see the same thing we see? This is not an expiring contract people need to stop thinking you can magically just dump almost 7mil for multiple years on to other teams.. you guys can’t keep trashing on a guy and then at the same time say some other team could use him lol. A team as bad as the canucks are right now is too good for him.. so what team is desperate for boeser? You are attaching multiple pucks and or prospect just to move 2 years of boeser.
  20. Boeser ain’t going anywhere.. I mean if he’s as bad as useless as 80-90% of the people here claims who’s going to take him for 3 years at 6.75mil? Unless we are planing on retaining boeser ain’t going anywhere. Let alone get you any player that’s not a cap dump
  21. if we win 8 of our next 11 games.. that'll put us at 10-8-2?? pretty sure that's .500 we need to go 7-4 and be at .500.. but because all the team that were in the playoff last season are all off to such a horrible start.. even though the canucks started 0-5-2 it didn't really hurt them all that much. LA minnesota nashville st louis the 4 you expect to make the playoffs are all within reach.. and teams that are occupying spots right now i expect them to fall off soon like seattle winnipeg chicago.. dallas and vegas will prolly come back to earth and be more like a .600 team instead of a 7-2 team so who knows if we go 7-4 unlikely but not impossible.. i mean technically the next 5 is all very winnable.. although we tend to get destroyed by devils.. and then followed by toronto whom we seem to play well against. depending on when we get bodies back and if demko starts to get back in form.. 7-4 is not too impossible looking at the schedule.. it all depends on whether we get the canucks vs the pengs or the canucks the first 7 games
  22. so now that Miller is no longer capable of being a center since he doesnt' play defence.. Horvat is elevated to the 1c role.. so what does that do for his contract.. we might have missed the boat to re-sign horvat.. so much for arguing he's a 3c.. he prolly won't continue his 54 goal pace.. but he'll prolly still be his normal 35-40 goal if he stays healthy wonder how that'll affect his trade value at the tdl and what direction this team goes now that it's proven miller can't play C other than faceoff and he's better off as a winger.. we literally going to go from having 3c to just EP if horvat walks or traded
  23. regardless he's prolly happy he didn't sign yet at the rate he's scoring at.. prolly won't be able to keep the pace at 54 goals/82 but he's prolly on pace for new career high i'm pretty sure the last larsson goal with be changed to horvat.. at this rate he prolly priced himself out of vancouver.. but i'm sure the trade bo camp here will still argue he's a 3c worth under 6mil and he can only score on the PP even though he's officially a 2c now with 4 of his 6 goals either 5v5/SH.. Miller other than faceoff is a terrible center because he doesn't do his defensive responsibility
  24. are we still the only team in the league that haven't been able to give up less than 3 goals per game at least once this season?? my god we are on pace to break into the top 50 most goals allowed in a season by a team.. and all of those teams are from the 80s and early 90s when the goalies with 3+ gaa are considered good..
  25. lol it'll shatter anyone's mentality because of hype and expectation by the fans.. he wasn't a great prospect to begin with he's borderline and a tiny goalie.. but the fans here were oozing and awwing over him when drafted saying it was a steal.. between getting shelled in the NHL level and missing almost a year of development due to covid shutdown and not doing great in the AHL.. this guy have had terrible stats ever since drafted and haven't improved since being drafted
