we are a team with some extreme opposite ends of talents.. we have some really high end talents.. and then more than half the team below average to bottom of the barrel talent. not enough average talents to keep the team competitive

i dunno but if i were bo i would have been insulted they started the contract negotiation by offering him a paycut. i understand the whole one side go low the other side starts high and you work ur way towards the middle.. but i woulda think the starting points would be 5.5-6 somewhere there? not the nugent hopkin 5.125 which was the rumor. i think bo earned his last contract unlike nugent hopkin where he was overpaid. i honestly don't think the management had intention to sign horvat and the only way they would sign him is if he take a massive hometown discount below market lowball contract maybe around what he's making now.. otherwise how do you explain starting off the contract negotiation with your captain with a lowball insult? yes the offer is insulting when you look at how much they paid players like boeser OEL Garland and Mikhayev.. i dunno how nhl contract negotiation goes.. but in most negotiation it usually don't go well if you start the negotiation off with an insulting offer.. if this was free agency.. the agent probably just straight up block your number. i was expecting more like if they were planning to sign him they start at 6mil bo's camp prolly 7.5-8mil and then they end up meeting in the middle 6.5-7mil which i think was more than fair for both side at least back in the summer. i view Horvat as a 2c because i don't really view EP and Miller both playing center.. it's either 1 or the other long term.. well now that project is over we are about to go from 2.5 center to just EP and miller who's only capable of taking faceoff.. my take is if bo is traded.. Miller needs to be traded for asset also and scorch earth rebuild.. this team ain't going to be competitive even if it gets a RHD back from bo's trade.. you are literally missing a 2c and a 3c.. 3c you can prolly find easier.. 2c?? well you just got rid of one for say a premium.. so that probably means those don't grow on trees.. and we don't have one on the team or in the system.. If we move Miller only even for picks.. at least we still have a 1c 2c to build around while trying to rebuild the defence.. but you have 8mil freed up + picks from the miller trade to play around with and maybe reset for couple years and try again with the current core minus miller. if JR/PA tries to retool this team by trading bo and keeping miller.. they are going to be even worse than anything Benning have done. retool around a 30+ miller lol. if they move bo there's really no other option than scorch earth rebuild.. i mean someone can enlighten me how they plan about going to replace a 2c and a 3c while finding 2 capable top 4 RHD.. Myer will be gone one way or anotehr after next season. Schenn is going to be too old and slow to be playing in the top 4.. and i doubt he'll re-sign in the summer anyways based on how this team played.. and his body language doesn't seem like he's a big fan of Miller.

Miller not even starting his new contract yet is already on pace to drop 20% in production and no longer even playing center. Ya I rather have chytil as our 3c lunqvist and a 1st and kept bo as a 2c during summer. Look at what Dallas paid for lunqvist we coulda moved miller for equivalent of 2 1st and chytil. Doubt whoever we replaced miller with woulda been on the ice for 25+ goals in 16 games

Martin have been as bad as demko been stat wise.. only difference between the 2 goalie is martin starts canucks avg 4-5 goals.. maybe play martin more.. at least we seem to score more so it'll be more fun to watch even if we lose lol

just like people said his streak near the end of last season wasn't going to continue? he doesn't even need to score at the current pace to hit 50.. 36 in 65 is more than doable. he's been red hot going back to last season for half a season worth of games already.. even if you drop his shooting % back to 15-16%.. he's been shooting the puck more.. avg 3.5 shots a game.. take that over 82 games season that's still 45 goals.. he's taking more shots therefore he's getting more goals.. is it really unsustainable?? even if he shoots 14% that's still 40 goals.. so yes he can easily continue.. coz he's hasn't changed the way he's playing.. he's just shooting more.

too bad horvat is on pace to break the canucks single season goal record he prolly won't reach that but he'll likely reach 50 at this rate.. will be the first time a canucks player broke 50 since bure in 98.. but very unlikely horvat will break that in a canucks jersey.

well if bo is traded JR needs to 100% approach Miller and ask if he's willing to move. trading Bo regardless of what you get in a deal won't be enough to cover the holes created by moving bo. let say you move bo and got a rhd back great. now you need a 2c and a 3c.. coz let's face it.. the only part of Miller's game that you consider him as a C is faceoff.. outside of faceoff he doesn't play like a center.. finding a 3c prolly easier.. but finding a 2c? not exactl that easy.. otherwise why other team needs a bo or willing to pay for him?

Only chance miller is moving is JR asked him and he said yes. Trading a player after he signs a max term contract before his nmc kicks in without consulting is the biggest douche move a franchise can make. Imagine he has no interest in going to whatever team and now stuck there for 7 years. None of the current players will be willing to sign long term with the team knowing there’s a chance the team will backstab them and ship them off to places they don’t want to go without consulting. No big name ufa will consider Vancouver if there are other choices available.

Last year his record vs playoff teams is barely .500 if not below and masked by beating up bad teams. I love Bruce but the team sucked last year too Bruce or no Bruce
