yup and if u look at this month alone where martin is 3-1... his stat this month is even worse than demko even thuogh demko only have like 1 win.. martin is not the solution they are both equally bad behind this horrendous defence and defensive support from the forward.. Miller is horrendous... Horvat this season is not much better.. i dunno if that have to do with Miller being on his line.. the only line that looks ok defensively is the EP line.. and EP is putting it all out there diving at pucks saving empty net goals etc etc.. same can't be said about horvat/miller's line.

Lol it’s clear the management is making Bruce a scrap goat.. he never was JR guy and JR have done everything he can to set him up to fail so he has a reason to fire him. Bruce is too much of a fan favourite last season he can’t flat out tell Bruce we don’t really want you back. So you think players for example are ok with signing a below market rate at a no tax states and then suddenly get traded before their nmc kicks in to a city with max tax? I’m all for trading miller, but he ain’t moving unless he’s consulted and ok with it to a city of his choice. There have been 0 players in any league that iirc traded a player they just extended for max terms traded against the players wish before their nmc kicks in in sporting history. Just because they can doesn’t mean they will. Not if they don’t ask the player and do it against their wish and especially one of your top players

lol it'll also affect all our current roster player.. imagine EP refuse to sign a long term extension with the canucks until the final year of his RFA expires because he doesn't want to risk the team backstabbing him and trade him as soon as he re-signs to a long term. set a precedent? it's going to be on the back of the mind of every single player. no agents will want to deal with JR/PA unless they want to overpay the hell out of them.. just because there's already a bias against signing in Canada let's make the team the least desirable city and management group to deal with?

Pasternak is a question mark next season. half their roster isn't even signed.. are they willing to comit amost 18-19 million of their 26mil cap on pasternak and Miller?? probably not. i wanted Miller moved but i'm prepared for Miller ain't moving unless we retain as most contenders wouldn't have the cap space for Miller beyond this year and stay competitive. only team i can see that kinda fits would be carolina.. and the question will be will miller even want to go there.

suspect goaltending? overachieving? you must not have watched the devil last season.. they were one of the higher offensive team until hughes got hurt.. Vanecek is solid and a massive upgrade over blackwood.. vanecek just needs to be solid and doesn't need to be vezina like and New jersey will easily score enough to win.. new jersey last year was they couldn't keep the puck out of the net.. with an upgraded defence and a way better goalie than blackwood they'll easily make the playoff.. vanecek had decent stats for washington more than enough for the devils to make the playoff.. blackwood is actually terrible.. he's only god like against the canucks.

they would have been better off signing him to a 1 year QO and then trade him at the TDL or something as a rental with retention if necessary.. either you get a decent return for a trade rental if he does well.. or we could re-sign him if we do well.. or we walk away from him if he doesn't bounce back but we are in a playoff position.. at the end of the day i don't think that 750k difference would have made or break this team.

Maybe but like boeser he had a minor injury to start the season with his hand and technically shouldn’t affect his shot but it was his hand and it affected his grip and it burst open so it could affect him in ways we wouldn’t imagine

Adding mik is fine but that have to be accompanied by moving one or boeser garland or miller. We are not at the point where we can casually add a top 6 forward when we have surplus already while leaving the defence as is. But too late for that now. I can’t imagine any retool and be competitive if bo is moved hence we need a full on rebuild imo

He’s also coming off a surgery so who knows if it’s affecting him mentally or not. Did he ever even disclose what the surgery was.

Like I said we can put in brodeur in net and he will look exactly like that. Just as bad the amount of chances we bleed odd man rushes his play from last year is not sustainable. Instead of high danger chances there should be a new category for the Canucks insane high danger chances. It’s not coincident both our goalie are almost over 4gaa and below .900 sv% same with halak last year and holtby the year before and they seem to be fine with their new team. Overall team talent is skewed by we have too many forwards with good ok talents and nothing on defence

that is not true of every team.. we have far more below average talents than a lot of teams. if we have average talent on defence we'd be laughing. outside of hughes the top end and schenn maybe OEL average to slightly below.. everyone else is almost well below if not bottom of the barrel. ideally you want 1-2 top end 2-3 mid and 1-2 low talent on ur defence. the team spent way too much money on middle talent on forwards.. between boeser pearson mikhayev garland that's 20-21mil right there. JR spent the cap poorly over the summer. if u re-sign boeser then there's no reason to bring in mikhayev he created a massive log jam of forwards.. did he really need to spend almost 12mil on 2 forwards? to play in a top 9 role? when you already have kuzmenko garland podkolzin hoglander either boeser or mikhayev.. what was the reasoning to bring in 5 forwards for 4 top 6 spots. did he really think we can roll with 3 lines and just outscore every other team to mask the teams issue? i'd be happier if he didn't either re-sign boeser or mikhayev and sit around with 5-6mil of cap space and see if we coulda proach a cap casualty player from somewhere.. the management spent too much effort and cap on unnecessary places this off season added to the issue on where the team is now.
