yes a full on tanking rebuilding team will take JT Miller + a cap dump and give u seth jones and a pick lol.. if seth jones is willing to move.. i actually don't think the cost is high to obtain him from chicago.. the market is very limited on where he can go.. not many team can afford 9.5mil cap hit.. and not many are contenders or close that jones would consider.. more realistic would be trade JT miller for picks and prospect and package all the picks/prospect for jones in a 3 way deal of some sort.

off topic but why does the canucks always have one of if not the latest home opener of any team?? we have the latest home opener again this season arizona don't count coz they dont even have a home.

i honestly don't blame Bruce too much.. i blame the assistant coaches more.. and i'm going to guess bruce never had the chance to bring in his own people for assistant.. if he was allowed free reigns behind the bench.. i'm sure none of the current assistant coaches on the team would be there.

i think the key to winning with this team is giving up the 1st goal.. last year we would come out of almost every game slow and be giving up the 1st goal of the game and then come back to win. this team is not used to coming out strong and playing with a 1st period lead.. so they have no idea what to do in the 2nd and 3rd period with the lead hence pissing it all away and by then they lost all the momentum! if Minnesota scores first next game we'll have a chance lol

Meh now that I have couple hrs to digest this later disaster. I’m willing to give the team couple more weeks before declaring this is a dumpster fire. Yes we can’t hold a lead but our defence is so banged up and thin basically we have no Myers poolman dermott the entire time 3 that would normally slot in also missing jr so call prizes ufa mikheyev. Missing close to 15mil in cap worth of players chances are you are going to lose most of them. The fact we managed to have the lead in all of them should be a little bit encouraging. Now that we have a full roster? Let’s give it couple weeks before we tear them a new one?

how many 3c out there in the league capable of matching up against top lines consistently for 18-20 mins a night can be had? not many? and how many are available? even less? with Miller being a liability out there defensively we can't afford to have him line up against the mcdavids of the world. we tried a cheap defenisve minded 3c didn't we? the name is jason dickinson.. how did that go? oh right we traded a 2nd and 3rd round pick for it and ended up with a 7/8th defenceman. bo is less of an issue than Miller is right now.. even if bo doesn't show up to the game offensively he doesn't hurt the team like miller does.. Miller is literally single handedly tanking the season for the canucks so far.. he's what? -5 -6? been on like 10-12 goals against now just 4 games into the season? Miller said all the right thing after being on the ice for all 8 goals against.. he hasn't shown any improvement since.. if this is the trend.. his contract is already worse than LE and it haven't even kicked in yet.

martin looked horrible on the 3rd bj goal lol lost the net and was slow motion getting across.. and where's the Miller is one of our best defensive forward crowd? he's got selke votes compared to horvat and EP.. i've been saying he's one of the worse for years now.. and nothing has shown he's making progress.. looks like he's too busy counting his money to care about the game. Miller is a liability when he's not scoring.. which is exactly what he is right now.. it's only 4 games into the season.. but last year's production is starting to look more and more like a fluke and he already peaked.

the difference between top powerplays and our current powerplay.. other teams powerplay the 5 players keep their formation but shifts with the puck.. if the pass the puck left.. all 5 also shifts left.. and when they pass the puck right they all shift right.. canucks? all 5 standing still like pylons.

it's pretty much human nature.. how often do you see a worker work extra hard at their job knowing they are going to get rid of them soon whether it'd be managers or whatever. prolly would have been better if they didn't start by offering him a pay cut even if they have no intention to sign him.. i mean you offer mikheyev 4.75 and you start bo's offer in the low 5s less than what he's already making? i think that's insulting. 32 points pk specialist gets u 4.75x4 consistent 50-60 point guy with around 30-35 goals will get u 5.2 as a starting point? so what was mikheyev starting offer from the canucks? 2mil?

seth jones probably coulda been had before his nmc kicked for 1st and a prospect tbh but i don't think anyone wants him at his 9.5mil cap hit lol

When u score 3-4 goals every game you are expected to win more than you lose. Sure they don’t have the urgency to score when down but really shouldn’t get to that point when u are leading by 2-3 goals every game

The lack of nhl caliber defence on this team is finally catching up to them. We did absolutely nothing to address it and keep pointing to we were one of the best 5v5 team defensively last year lol. Nah it was Demko. Outside of OEL and borderline Hughes schenn we have no defenseman defence that is nhl standard currently in the lineup.

this team is missing that angry defenceman that would straight up flatten the other teams forward.. where's the energy line? one that goes out crash and bang? JR/PA biggest mistake is going all in on offense and not give a f about defence.. that 5mil on mikhayev would have looked real good on a defenceman. like it or not this team misses myers. missing 11mil on ur roster in a cap salary era ain't going to get u anywhere. we don't have the youth or depth to overcome.

ive said it before this team goes as far as demko goes with this defence. He needs to stand on his head every game if we were to win.. and he haven't done that yet so we lose lol
