  1. Atta boy Ekman-Larsson. Hey, I have a PP idea. Put a guy where Nugent Hopkins was to do that tip intentionally. It'd be more effective than whatever PP1 is doing.
  2. So Garland is a right handed shot. He's got hands, wheels, and a decent one-timer instinct. Why is he not on the left side? Why the **** is Chaisson there instead?
  3. Why is it so difficult to have off-hand wingers on the dots on the powerplay and just rip it? The best goal scorer in the NHL has a spot. It's worked pretty consistently for almost 20 years. There's no shame in trying to copy it even if the shooters aren't quite Ovechkin. But no. Forcing a play down low and into 4 sticks all the time. Canucks force force force all the time, but with nothing behind it. Hot air forcing.
  4. And consistent with playing a bunch of AHLers in the tuneup games for way too long rather than letting the main team gel.
  5. Entirely true. Doubly so since Petey actually did have him tied up at the beginning of the play, but left to challenge behind the net.
  6. Except it wasn't Myers fault, he was covering the back door (as he should be). Pettersson left his guy to attack behind the net.
  7. Petey looks like a guy who missed training camp out there. Caught swimming, lost his guy, puck in the net. Lots of bobbles, baaad stick handle in the zone leading up to that goal. Lammikko and Hogs look like they gelled quick. So I imagine Green will break that up as soon as possible, can't have guys with jam out there.
  8. I'd even be willing to go dutch on a date with Caroline Cameron. Talking sports with somebody who actually knows more than one sport... AND she's stunning too. You have good taste lol. As for Kravtsov, I wonder if it's like our issues with some players; can't play top 6 yet, can't play bottom six either, so he's got nowhere to be despite being 'good enough' but not quite.
  9. The team just isn't ready to play when they get on the ice usually. They start behind the 8 ball for whatever reason (tired? unprepared?), end up taking an out-of-position penalty as a result such as holding, hooking or tripping and then getting scored on. Possibly multiple times. It's been a consistent vision over Green's time here, I was hoping he'd be able to find and plug that hole but even judging by the preseason flow of play (not just the scores) he still hasn't and that's disappointing.
  10. Not really, the PK has to last longer by not getting scored on.
  11. You’ve got an Oiler team that does a 25+% on the PP. you’re gonna take every advantage you can get to win. They care about wins, not how you or I feel about it.
  12. Bag skates might not be that effective I guess
  13. Maybe he should coach AHL players in the AHL.
  14. They are so often out of position, so they reach with arms and stick to make up for it. Losing faceoffs, chasing the play leads to penalties.
