I would love to see him in a Canuck uni.. JB would have to do some maneuvering in the offseason to unload Sutter, Eriksson and Beartschi. I would let Tanev and Stech walk if Pietreangelo shows interest in us.

It does but to me his hockey iq, defensive awareness and finish makes up for it. As long as we have speed throughout the lineup its ok having some slow guys like Brock and Toffoli.

I think his confidence was lost when he hit Polak with a huge (maybe dirty hit) and not only got suspended for it, but got called out by the leaders of the team Henrik and Desjardins instead of getting support. WJC and 1st season Jake had swagger and loved to hit, thats why its was so furstrating to see him pass on hits against Vegas and the St.Louis because we know he has it in him. After hearing JB's interview today, i have no doubt Jake wont be back. If another team still sees potential in him maybe we can anchor Eriksson with him in a trade lol.

my only knock on him is his size and foot speed.. and if he's Toffoli's replacement we get a little softer in the top 6. hopefully JB beefs up our bottom 6 with MacEwen type players to balance it out.

I wonder if we could sell Vancouver as a cup contender to Hall so he signs at a discounted price? He isn't like the other FA's looking to cash in, he made his money already, i wonder if we can attract him to a team on cusp of a dynasty and play for big Canadian market. he would be perfect as a 3rd line playmaking center for us but i doubt he'd want that. hows his foot speed? he's on the smaller side so better be fast or else pass for me.

I would've put Bailey in for at least one game for Sutter against Vegas. Speedy, big guy with hands... Dallas dressed a guy we've never heard of for Cogliano in game 7 and he scored a hatty :(

yes he reminds me of a poor mans Tom Wilson. he can skate really well and most importantly... likes to hit lol. we didn't punish the Knights at all aside from an odd Edler or Myers hit in the series. Wood - Beagle - MacEwen would be a heavy line

yeah i think they will reject that and im not ready to give up on Gaudette yet. any trade with NJ has to include one or our anchors. maybe they'll accept Sutter + Boeser + Gaud for Zacha and Severson.

NJ has been terrible for a couple of years now so i don't buy into his +- stats too much and he's their #1 defenceman so he's on the ice all the time. He can also run the PP he has a wicked slap shot and has an edge to his game. Miles Wood is a modern day 4th liner that can skate, crash and bang and pot in some goals. He's like an advanced MacEwen. he and MacEwen would give us much needed size and speed with a little scoring touch on the bottom 6.

I like your ideas but i think we could get a better D for Boeser. I'm thinking Severson. I like his physicality and 2 way ability and we've shown interest in him before i think. Boeser + Sutter (cap dump NJ has a ton of cap space) for Severson + Wood would be perfect for our need for speed and size.

I know it's a small sample size, but the past 3 games Demko has shown he can elevate his game to a different level. We have one of, if not the best goaltending coach in Ian Clark and with his mentorship i think Demko will only get better. His age also fits in our long term plan to become a contender. If i had to chose im going with Demko. I don't know if we could do a sign and trade for Marky but we need to get something for him at least.

and he was terrible defensively vs Dallas. look at the level of competition Hughes had to play against compared to Makar. the defending cup champs and the cup favourites... the Petey and Hughes would've feasted on the Yotes and that Dallas goaltending.

Radulov and Hoffman will command big bucks tho.. he's the cheapest one there and already has experience playing with the guys. Say we let Toffoli go, who can show up next season and replace him? remember he was at a point per game pace with us. do we trade for another top 6 forward and burn more assets? Hoglander is the only one i can think of replacing him but thats a long shot right now.

yes but how long is he from making an impact on the top 6 tho? are we gonna just waste Petey and Hughes ELC contracts waiting for Podkolzin and Hoglander to arrive? Toffoli is what we need for a young team. experience WITH skills. Sutter, Beagle, and Eriksson, Roussel, Pearson are veterans we should be cutting ties with not a top 6 forward. I agree with your philosophy thats why i want the defence to get a new look because clearly this one aint working. there are options out there, OEL, Pietreangelo, Severson (i think we had interest in him before) then we need a push from Rafferty, Juolevi and Rathbone.

his goaltender of the future decision got easier i think. the bottom 6 and defence need a new makeover in the offseason. surround Green with experienced ex head coaches.

youre thinking with your heart. Tanev is not gonna get any younger and he isn't as defensively sound as he once was. unless CT takes a major pay cut, we cant afford to give him a raise. Toffoli gives us scoring threat and PP option, you saw how hard it was for the Canucks to score right? where can we get anotherToffoli via trade without trading assets out again? aside from maybe Hall, he's the next best free agent forward.

Tanev was a warrior for us and i would love to see him back, but i hope he cashes in free agency, he deserves that money but not with us tho. Stech as well...love the guy but i think we will move on from him as well. we desperately need to upgrade the defence. Toffoli i think will get re-signed Jake will get traded in the offseason and lastly, i think Marky will test free agency but hopefully signs in the East.

sad MacEwen wasn't able to see any ice in this series, i feel his size and speed would've played a factor in our lineup. we had no swagger, Roussel was getting chirped and trolled by Vegas and he looks at our bench and sees no ally lol

Demko is our goalie of the future. I love Marky but Demko fits our future better. Ian Clark has done an amazing job unlocking his full potential.

the worst part of this loss was... we could've stolen this game the way Demko was playing, that's what stings. powerplay with 9 mins left in the game to make up for the failure of a 5 min PP and again i saw no friggin urgency.

I still cant get over the 5 minute major powerplay. Vegas didn't really have to do anything there except wait for us to make a low percentage pass across the blueline for them to intercept and clear!!!
