When the prospect pipeline fills up, we need good places like the SHL to get our young guys good experience. I trust new management much more than prior regimes to do the right things when it comes to top talents like Jonathan Lekkerimaki.

[Report] Cale Makar suspended 1 game
Goal:thecup replied to -Vintage Canuck-'s topic in General Hockey Discussion
Makar has a thin skin and an attitude problem. McCann is a smartass with his own attitude problem. I'm willing to bet McCann got under Makar's skin and Makar lost it. Both are out for a bit, so I'm happy; but Makar should have got at least 2. -
[Rumour] Nikita Tryamkin eyeing NHL return

65 days 'til Christmas! Saint Nik is coming to town! -
Yeah but. Goals aren't the only thing. Love Brock but the league is so effing-faaast and we have to move off slower players because every guy in the league now can really fly. No hurry though; this is just the second of the 2 crappy years coming up; sorting wheat from chaff and building the core/surround and the pipelines.

Agree, but I voted Jets cuz they're my second favorite Canadian team; where's that option? I've liked several different American teams over the (many) years; and loved and then hated 2: Bruins when they got #4 Bobby Orr, and then, well, you know. The other was Chicago, Bobby Hull, Stan Makita, and then, yeah, that again. Lately I've liked and then faded on Tampa. Colorado I like (cuz of Joe) but their recent success brings back shuddering memories of them rack'n us up, time and time again, and then Big Burt got railroaded (we even changed our colours to something very much like Colorado's; who was the suck arse that thought that was a good idea?). Loved the Nordiques, cuz they always beat my most-hated team, Les Scabs, in Montreal, on Hockey Night in Canada and they were the better team too then they got, well you know, shifted. Jets were a really strong team when the detested Coilers and Cowboys were fighting it out (and that was a great rivalry), so I loved them beating those 2. They seemed to always have like 3 top goalies. And everything was so much more physical and violent back then. (Can you imagine Zegras getting away with his schtick then?) Cheers!

[Rumour] Nikita Tryamkin eyeing NHL return
Goal:thecup replied to -Vintage Canuck-'s topic in Trades, Rumours, Signings
It is now mandatory to report and if you don't, you lose your driving license, passport, and everything, becoming basically an outlaw, not allowed to own property, vehicles, etc, etc. If you enroll, you get to die in the meat grinder, which some will prefer for sure. I really wonder if Tryamkin's opportunity to escape with his family hasn't passed him by. Pack up the fam Tram and get out any way you can. (And please sign with Vancouver.) -
The Calgary Flames Excellent Season
Goal:thecup replied to aqua59's topic in General Hockey Discussion
I hope this puts an end to this "we gave away Markstrom and Tanev for nothing" bs. Markstrom is a sieve and Tanev is still missing too many games to injury. And the Calgary Flames can wallow in their filthy barn for eternity as far as I'm concerned. Sutter "I own this land, and that land, and all the land you can see" Muppet-Face can go to hell. -

High HIQ; very quick to read the situation; good on D as well, he's always stealing the puck etc.

[PGT] Chicago Blackhawks at Vancouver Canucks | Apr. 06, 2023
Goal:thecup replied to -Vintage Canuck-'s topic in Canucks Talk
That was about the suckiest suck-up thing I've ever seen in hockey; kinda liked Nedved up 'til then; even Gretz was embarassed. -
He reminds me of Joe Sakic: skinny guy who is smart, fast, and able to score in many different ways (plus, ice in his veins).

So what you're trying to say might be: We are Allvin. (Or: We Are All In. Or: We Are All Win?)
