  1. and as always keep in mind... there is something to be negaative about here.
  2. Good point. a lot less ifs on the first line you mentioned.. IF hodgson can improve his skating, IF Rodin can play more physical, IF Jensen can score consistently. Only ifs for the new guys is if they can keep up their play!
  3. you know what i like to do with advanced stats? be encouraged by them when they support our guys; and completely ignore them when they don't.
  4. Awesome! pulling for him big time!
  5. I remember that draft. Jenner seemed the best choice. Rakell and Jurco were options. I don't remember too many people talking about Saad at the time. Or Jensen, for that matter.
  6. http://theqmjhl.ca/qmjhl-roundup-zhukenov-leads-sagueneens-in-2-1-win-over-drakkar/ not a lot of substance here but he made the main page. little highlight video of the game, second goal of the video, game winner.
  7. I didn't forget about Datsyuk. But when I'm talking about midwestern fans; Detroit is a 9 hour drive compared to just under 4 to St. Paul. The Wild tend to be more popular in my area than Detroit.
  8. Most kids that played hockey in the midwest from 2000-09 look up to Gaborik in a big big way. I think NHL fans tend to forget how good Gaborik was with the Wild. In that time, there really wasn't a better player to watch in this part of the country.
  9. as well as expressing interest in signing with Vancouver. Just keeping his options open. It would be a bad move on his part to say he wouldn't re-sign with the team he's currently playing for.
  10. They add NCAA players a lot, easier for the coaches to keep an eye on those guys compared to CHLers.
  11. would be great to get him and rodin on the Utica roster to finish the season. would be really nice to have a look at both of them with the Comets.
  12. Benning will get the memo I'm quite sure of it.
  13. celebartion got a little nutty haha at least their enthusiastic. Seems like Sautner is kind of the "forgotten prospect" this year. I would have thought McEneny was going to be the guy to stick with Utica this year other than Subban. Interested to see follow the rest of his first pro season. He's relatively unknown to us given how new he is to the prospect pool.
  14. This is the way I see it. Plus, he's in the NCAA where the Canadian fans aren't as exposed to updates regularly. That's not meant to be a dig against the fanbase; it's just something I've noticed over the years following the Canucks prospects.
  15. They should do a rookie defenseman and rookie forward award. It's unfortunate Hutton's rookie year is the same as McDavid and Eichel.
  16. He's the only guy on the defense that's made Sbisa look better. Against LA, they moved the puck well and Sbisa was playing a pretty good physical game. There will be struggles for them along the way but that pairing (surprisingly!) works.
  17. Wow, 8 shots on goal against Maine. UND is ranked #1 in the nation; only two games played but it goes to show they are going to be a very strong team this year.
  18. you could also say faster feet. its semantics.
  19. Does anyone else remember McCann saying shortly after the draft that he felt he would only need one more year of junior before making the jump to the NHL? The kid called his shot. impressive!

    1. Robongo

      Robongo

Sure do, now let's see if he can stick for the whole year!

      HerrDrFunk

It is what it is :P

I'm totally saying that everytime he scores too.

    3. Gstank29

      Gstank29

IF he calls his own shots then when he wants a contract in 3 tears he's not going to budge on how much he wants... It's not always a good thing

  20. Very few places don't give respect to an injured player regardless of anything that happened in the past.
  21. Yeah, because he's shorter than Jake. what's your point?
  22. Well this escalated quickly. I wish the reg. season would start and people would be distracted away from the prospects for awhile. Let's see him be elite as a QMJHL player first. I mean, let's be honest, if Zhukenov gets half as many points as Ehlers did last year, that will be a success for him this year. and what kind of picture is that to use for a comparison? Virt's knees are locked out as he's coming to a stop and Zhuk's at about a 40 degree angle turning in to meet him.
  23. Play physically between the whistles. don't let your teammates get jumped after them. Stay level headed through meaningless face washes.
