IMO, it all started when he decided to move Tesla HQ to Texas....it was about that time that he started battling with Bernie Sanders over the fact that large corporations don't pay their fair share of taxes. Right after he pivots to this mantra of not being able to identify with "woke" people....championing "free speech" (when it suits him) and promoting right wing talking points and conspiracies...
I think it's all been a smokescreen to cover up for the fact that he's just another uber-rich asshole, who wants to be even richer and see the Republicans, with their policies of tax cuts and deregulation as more favorable to him....
The problem he has is that his target market, in general, sit on the other side of that fence.....so he has to come up with an excuse for his political shift.
The ElonJet / Stalker thing is just the tip of the iceberg, IMHO. I believe he's been lying about everything since well before his Twitter takeover and the shine has completely come off of his "tech genius" persona.....
It started before that when he called one of the Thai cave rescuers a "pedo" for mocking his idea about how to initiate the rescue. He was successful in having the lawsuit dismissed and never looked back in terms of saying anything he wanted to on Twitter.

The Aquas are business people. It's how you spin it. You have a meeting. Show the past two games. Summarize it like this. The team is not making the playoffs with it's existing roster. You tell them you have some good pieces. But there's going to be a lot of movement. Going for a younger, faster, more competitive team. It will mean short term pain, but long term gain.
If the overall plan it to move expensive pieces and have a team with more cap space for flexibility. Tell them it will take time. But that's the best way to build a winner.
It is hard to imagine that this hasn't been explained to them by someone at some point during the last decade.

Signings:
The Los Angeles Kings have signed Darren Raddysh to a 1 year contract worth $0.950M.
The AHL's points leader is a defenceman and is also now property of the Kings. Hoping he gets an opportunity in Tampa Bay.

Just reading this too...
@Down by the River, @Canuck Surfer
Over in Czechia ...
Svozil is also still in camp, however they have 4 more cuts to make before the tournament.
The lone Swiss skater selected in our draft, Attilio Biasca is in the Swiss Selection Camp and appears to be in position to make the team.
You're reading an article that is out of date.... this was in reference to last Summer's tournament. That's why is says "Earlier this month" in reference to the draft.

Up your security detail Dana.
Ramzan Kadyrov calls out Dana White after UFC 282 split draw, demands his fighter be made champion
Lol. Dana and the MMA community have been quite silent about what a POS Kadyrov is. I wonder if this will change Dana's tune.
Paddy made himself very unlikeable this week. He reminds me of Conor only in the sense that he'll act however he thinks he needs to act in a given situation to get what he wants. He's as disingenuous as it comes.
Bryce Mitchell got to learn that being the smartest inbred at the ho-down doesn't count for crap.
EDIT: foul language... are the CDC censors no longer working? I figured it would just auto-correct my swears lol.

Many goals are rebounds, tip ins so I don't care much about "the perfect shot"....I care about shots, period.
I mean, one of their goals came off a perimeter shot in traffic and rebound where someone happened to be in the right spot.
Grade A, for me, is determined by a goal.
That's literally the definition of a tautology. There are reasons why shooting percentages are higher in some areas of the ice than others, and possibly giving up possession for a low percentage play is simply bad hockey.

Regarding tampering, the other day Frank Seravalli put it out there that a team was willing to offer Bo 9 million. I don't know how that isn't tampering. You're basically using the media to indirectly begin contract negotiations.

I struggled hard not to pick Nemec.
Just did not know if he was going? With Edvinsson out, went what I hope is PP guy for Sweden. Nemec the better player...
Looks like it:

I believe I have the final pick for Mr. Irrelevant.
Simon Nemec
Zack Ostapchuk Liam Ohgren Isak Rosen
Olen Zellweger Simon Nemec
Team Sweden
That was as efficient a draft as I've ever been part of. Thanks @AriGold

I think the issue is more social media than smartphone use.
‘There is also a type of bias here. There has been a big push over last several years to openly talk about mental health. This on its own would increase willingness to admit to mental health struggles which on a survey will look like a surge in cases and frequency but is really just an unearthing of what has already been there.Social media use is correlated with depression but the directionality of this relationship appears to be depression-->social media use rather than social media use-->depression.
-
Depression and anxiety influenced problematic smartphone use. Smartphone use did not influence depression/anxiety:

Study used cross-lagged models to account for temporal order. Be wary of correlational studies relying on cross-sectional data.

A pretty simple counterpoint is that having anxiety/depression would influence withdrawing from social interactions. I'm not saying that this is the case, just that it is really stupid to have such a strong opinion based on the data presented here.

Canada needs at least a tie today to stay alive. A win would obviously be much better.
Morroco's second goal almost means Canada needs to win out to advance.

Man, the UFC really treats veteran fighters like lame horses. Put Frankie out to pasture... in front of his kids no less. One of my all time favorites.
DP was great under fire in that first round. Most of Chandler's punches caught leather.
Esparza Wei-Li was a forgone conclusion. Could have saved everyone the time by just dropping off the belt in the middle of the octagon and going home.

Glass Onion (Knives Out): 8/10
Ten minutes in and I wanted to turn it off. The main characters (aside from the Inspector) all represent social media tropes that I just don't care to see on my screen. I preferred the first movie where the characters represented traditional 'old money' awfulness. However, after those first few minutes, I really fell into things and enjoyed the movie. By the end, I kind of came to the realization that this new version of social media influencers, celebrities, pop culture politicians, etc., are the new classical heinous persons. The whodunit genre has certain character archetypes and I get the director's desire to update those archetypes for the 21st century. I can't really say anything else about the movie without spoiling it, but if you get passed the first ten minutes and view the characters through a different lens, I think most will appreciate the movie.
