  1. I'm just curious about the timeline with this trade, and where management feels like they need to be heading towards. If the Canucks just started trading away their players for picks and prospects (i.e. Bloom, Kratsov, etc), this team probably isn't very good, and how do you get Petey and Hughes to want to remain with the team moving forward? If management is swinging for deals like Hronek, for draft picks, then you don't have a prospect pool (or at the very least, it's bottom of the pack), while the team isn't either very good. To me, this feels like the franchise is in no-man's land. Who do we blame for that? Rutherford's thinking that he can get the team to a competitive cycle again in 2-3 years, is insane. Is there any franchise in the league that has attempted the same thing and come out successful? I'm genuinely curious...
  2. Yeah. I was going to ask how he looked last night. But I figured he probably looked decent to invisible given that he's had no time to get accustomed to his team, he hasn't played consistently all season, and he's just arrived with the team in Dallas, after packing his bags from New York. Lots of transition in a short period of time, and not nearly enough to get comfortable and settled down. I think after a few practices and a few games, would be fair to gauge where he is currently at, and where he could be projected to be and to go. He's 185 lbs at 6'3. He looked thin in the pictures that I've seen him, or is that just me?
  3. Well, Tampa Bay is all in. They lost to Colorado last year right? But yeah, five draft picks for a player that isn't a top six player is insane.
  4. Yeah, it's crazy. I wasn't aware that Jeannot was a top six player. I mean, for a top six player, yes, this kind of makes sense to be giving away so many draft capital, and a prospect as well. Tampa Bay probably sees something that none of us are seeing?
  5. ah, just follow the commentary on here. It's probably more exciting than watching the actual game
  6. Allvin seems to be active... So I wouldn't be surprised if he's working the phones. There was a report recently that said that Allvin told JT's camp that he's not moving....
  7. I can totally see Demko not going anywhere. I'm not so sure about Miller, though, with the East and the teams, especially in the Metro Division - Carolina seems to be standing pat so far.
  8. Holy. If we could get 4 1st in this draft that would be amazing. Hope for the future on the horizon!
  9. Yeah, lots of teams in playoff contention are now battling and beefing up their teams for the postseason run. Carolina is the only team, and maybe Pitts, that hasn't done anything to beef their team up to keep pace with the other teams that have moves to strengthen their teams. Does Carolina get desperate? Rangers making moves. Jersey making moves. Toronto and now Tampa Bay. Only team that I see that is beginning to maybe feel desperate is Carolina.
  10. Yeah, we'd have to get a young C, ready to compete in the league for Miller, and a 1st to go along with that.
  11. haha. i was just agreeing with the statement that Kratsov's stats is a small size. I'm curious with him being in the line up (I'm assuming tomorrow night) with little to not practice time with the team. First impressions will be interesting.
  12. I mean, at the end of the day, these guys want to win, so if Miller is not winning here, he's probably not happy here. Same with Demko. Other players understand and are okay with being part of the process (rebuild/retool). It's also a business at the end of the day. Bo said all the right things publicly, but once he got the contract he wanted and felt like he deserved. The Islander jersey was a natural fit. These guys will play anywhere, they're almost loyal to no one.
  13. If Demko is healthy, he's a great goalie. IF he's healthy. I think Silovs being a starter next season is rushing things. He's 21 yo, that is super young for a goaltender. I would give him another season as the man between the pipes in Abbotsford before he backs up Demko. So I say, 2 years before he even gets a sniff at the starting job, assuming he can take it away from Demko. In 2 years, I'd be down to trading him for a pretty quality package.
  14. 10 NHL points in 48 career games isn't a large sample size, it's also not great production. How was he being deployed in New York?
  15. Yeah, it doesn't make much sense to trade Demko unless the organization is going full on rebuild mode.
  16. who is the player on the dot? better not be JT....or OEL.... well apparently they're slow learners....
  17. Probably not. But I see what you did there.
  18. I didn't see the game (thank God). Who was in net? Was it Martin? And, well, Tocchet's not wrong. When you let in 6 goals, that's pretty much grade level defense. But at least this helps with the tank. Where are we now? 5th in the lottery best odds?
