Lets take a quick look at this brutal year.
The injuries were frequent yes.
New coach, new system.
MG had everyone worried as to the state of the current line up and the future of the team.
Ludicrous trade rumors were heard daily.
Did I mention the injuries.
The D-core was struggling with sporadic hockey amnesia. No f...ing lol
I personally do not know if tossing Tort's is the solution. Next year will look like a huge turn around because the media and many hysterical fans have tried to paint such a dire picture of a fairly common NHL situation. Every team goes through seasons like this. We have prospects. We still have core talent that are willing to bang every night. The draft is coming up and we will be in the top 10 again. As much as I hated the deal it was a long time coming Lou is gone and that has ushered in a new era. There will be heavy competition at camp this year. The fire the rookies will light in the locker room come camp will be a raging inferno and we will all be salivating at the possibilities.
I think a tumble down the mountain side is just what this organization needed. This year was a slap in the face that came just at the right time. We could have had an average season and made the playoffs, made our way to the second round and then what ? Crappy draft spot, MG might not have been fired, maybe the Lou deal does not get done because of our position in the standings ? A ton of what ifs.
Just my opinion Nuck Nation but this season is actually a blessing in disguise.
