I guess that is why ..... Honestly I just hate all the sub labels of all the genres. Taking house and cranking the BPM calling it Progressive or Hardstyle etc. House is very specific. It was born in the underground clubs in Chicago and was very vocal in the beginnings. It went viral and everybody was doin it lol. It developed into such smooth melodic beats. Then in the early part of the millennium all the other styles exploded and house went back underground ! Thank the Dj's for saving it from getting destroyed by mainstream media. It still lives and breathes in your local clubs with the resident or "House" DJ spinnin' their vibe : D Regardless they are all deadly styles and wicked beats.

I am not upset or being biased I am looking at the hard numbers of Booth and am very disappointed in his performance. In regards to Cassels it is implied in the conversation about our biggest problem which is lack of scoring. As for backing up my statement Gillis not knowing about Booths risks, well he traded for him didn't he ? 49 points later we have a player nobody wants at that price and we will loose him to free agency. So how do we win in this scenario ? Horvat is on a great team in Juniors I think you may be severely over rating Horvats potential, and yes I may be over valuing our old tenders too. I am all over Eddie like white on rice. Have been watching him develop from day one and am so happy we have him. That being said and I will beat the dead horse and say where the hell is our scoring ? Yes injuries have decimated the team and it's morale but even before the horrific slide well into last year we all new we could not put the puck in the net like we need to. Matthias looks very promising but we need bonafied scoring not potential scoring. The rookies will take a few years to develop and truthfully this has fast tracked a partial rebuild where one was not really needed. As result of Gillis and his lack of finding a legitimate top 6 scorer we are left with scraps from other trades and a player nobody in the league wants.

The Richards hit was savage and he was actually just starting to leave his feet when he made contact . It makes puke watching it again. His strength as you call it how come we never see it ? It happens once every few months. HE is not the power forward he thinks he is . He has the hands and speed to play the skill game but instead chooses to fly around with reckless abandon. He has had multiple littel bang ups that have kept him out of the lineup on a consistent basis. In 127 games played for the Nucks he has 49 pts ? 25 goals ? His salary is 4.25 million ? I cannot be the only one who sees the epic failure of this addition to our team.

This is my whole point. The whole league new the risks in acquiring Booth but Gillis did not. I commend Booth for his willingness to bang, but he breaks. HE needs to adapt his game to a lesser physical style because he obviously cannot play the way he wants. Cole Cassels will not be scoring 30+ goals for us anytime soon or ever for that matter. Lack is unreal but if we do not find some scoring fast he will be fed to the wolves. You just cant drop a rookie tender into the frying pan without putting goals on the board for him. We play to wide open Defense to be a 1-0 shutdown team. You don't think Cory was ready to be our guy ? To win 25-30 games He was doing that already almost. We developed him for so long only to toss him aside for a possible 2C ? I am a huge Lou lover and new the story would end without much in return. Matthias looks promising for sure but not a 30 goal scorer. We need scoring and truck loads of it. Gillis has not addressed our biggest issue in the entire time he has been our GM. IF and it is a big IF Horvat comes up and lights it up I will shut my mouth about the Cory trade. I promise. Until then I feel we have given up better assets for very unpredictable returns. I know this is a high risk scenario we are discussing. Gillis has tried of that there is no doubt. I personally am not happy with his results. Which really means very little in the grand scheme of The Canucks plans. I am just a lowly fan who has been waiting not so patiently anymore since the 70's for a bloody cup.

Absolutely false. He injures himself driving to the net and by putting himself in vulnerable positions. Has done it his entire career and gets injured regularly. If you are going to sit here and tell me it is bad luck and cheap shots then I am completely amazed ? The guy is brittle plain and simple. Every player in the league goes through that stuff and manage to stay healthy to play. He has flashes of brilliance but that is it. How many points has he scored in the actual games he has been healthy to play in for us ? How can you possibly justify his production ? Do you honestly think Horvat is going to win 30 + games for us like Cory was about to ? Cmon J.R. you are one of the most intelligent posters on this site. IMHO our organizational weakness is scoring. Horvat is not going to be the sniper this team so desperately needs. He will be a great addition no doubt but no way he turns into a game changer on the level Cory was for us next season.

Agreeing with much of what you've said I cannot ignore two major deals. The draft day deal for the 9th pick sending Corey to NJD was inexcusable. Horvat will take years to develop, Corey was ready to go for us with bells on. Lou could have been dealt in the off season. What is really leaning me towards the axe truthfully is the Booth trade. The whole league new he was paper mache and MG took the bait anyways. The Canucks have spent good money on a horrible return. MG painted himself into the Lou deal. Clearly that will play itself out in the years to come. Inevitably this debate will rage on for ages well after MG is gone. I have said it before I do not envy his job in the slightest. Being a GM for a Canadian hockey team ? Imagine the horrifying stress.

I love the passion on these boards ! It is at a boiling point every day lol. I was never a huge fan of Gillis and i dont hate the man either. Although I do agree with much of what you are saying. Yes he has been in tough with the Lou saga and the cap being raised unexpectedly but to go from 2 world class goal tenders to (and i love Eddie) Eddie and Markstrom ? The Malhotra fiasco, I am sorry I know you and many liked Torres but that guy is just a joke. Of course i do not know the exact inner workings of THE Gillis and his process There is a lot more I could say but most would disagree and call me the idiot so I will let you be my shield in this fight : D
