    If Virtanen and McDavid were timed using the All Star Fastest Skater rules, is there a chance that Virt could be faster?

      If I remember in the Canucks skills competition Jake had a time that was either faster than McDavids or really close.

       

      They should let all NHL players participate in the skills competition like the NBA does, not only all stars.

      Quite possibly IMO. The main problem with the fastest skater skills comp is that it's never been properly standardized, so you have all sorts of weird rules varying over the years, making it very hard to compare players.

       

      Larkin, for instance, had a head start when he "broke the record" of Gartner years back. Something like that can make a huge difference.
