  1. Thanks for that! I guess that proves even the considered best gms in the league aren't perfect. Anyway glad they $&!# the bed one pick before us. Not that zadina isn't good, I think he may have a break out year this coming season. Just Hughes was the bpa for sure.
  2. Makar's top 3, soon to be #1 for years to come. Hughes will be top 10 for years to come... And maybe as high as top 5 in his prime. Very happy to say that... No comparisons to Makar, not fair to Hughes, we are very fortunate that Yzerman's only mistake since he's been GM of the Red Wings was taking Zadina the 2018 draft...
  3. You were attempting to point out Lindens change in messaging and to prove as much by posting the article. But what is glaringly obvious, and the only thing I gleaned, is a rookie President that was way over his head. I think our focus was on Benning so much, I forgot how inept Linden was at his job. Anyway, I digress, glad those days are long gone. Love Linden as a player and person but he was a horrible President. But hey, Gretzky was a horrible coach so there's that! Lol
  4. That article.... Sounds a lot like how this looks... So much fail... Not Linden's best work.
  5. He was rushed, period. Now the new management are going to have to help him unlearn some of the bad habit and flawed structure he played under. He's game though, his hard work ethic will help him come back better than ever. Might need to start in Abby though... He'll be good. Just a little patience.
  6. They were expecting 50% retained, either Formenton or Pinto to take on Murray lol! They're pissed! Not to many fans trying to spin this lol!
  7. So Murray's two rings are worth 4.7 mill aav alone? Because his play since his last cup isn't worth more than 1 mill aav. HUGE risk on the leafs part. IF they find a quality back up that can handle 30+ starts then maybe it's just kinda okay? However, finding a backup that can play that much, will cost 2+ mill at least. So they will have 6.5 to 7 mill rapped up in suspect goaltending? Not a plan I'd want to stand behind. Especially while they're in the middle of their competitive window. Just wow...
  8. I smell a STROOOONG scent coming from your STROOONG feeling.
  9. Would be great for our left wing... 2.5 mill cap hit rfa. Didn't have a great year. Probably get him at 5 to 5.25 at 4 years? Spit ballin... Of course JT would be going back Devils way. Could we get a 1st as well? Does a trade for Zacha make any sense at all, or are there better fits out there?
  10. I think it was a sure fire safe pick... High chance of becoming a top 6 player on any team. But as you wanted Bischel and I wanted Öhgren... Not because they were the most skilled or bpa but because they would be a better fit for need on this team right? Interesting thought that they may choose to develop and trade. A possibility. Another one, end of Boeser's contract (or last year) that they trade him and plug in Lekkerimaki in his place. Time will tell, regardless, at this time, he does appear to be the bpa at 15.
  11. Dubas taking another big swing... Unless Ottawa retains a good chunk of his salary, this would be a huge risk... $&!# it's a huge risk regardless. Perfect!!!
  12. It's a wait a see how these picks turn out. Question... How many here feel that Lekkerimaki will be the better pick versus Öhgren? Personally, I would have gone with Öhgren, because I feel we still need more grit and overall high end 200 ft players in our middle to bottom 6. Where as Lekkerimaki will be top 6 or bust (I don't think he'll bust though). But value wise, is Lekky the better choice (league wide compared to for this team). Obviously time will tell but at first glance between the two what say you?
  13. I agree with your assessment. However, it wasn't hard for me to watch him not be strong defensively. He wasn't pick for his 200 ft game... That would have been Öhgren. As you observed, the offense ran through his stick... For a reason. He was by far the most gifted offensive player on team Sweden... Personally I prefer 200 ft players more. They're more reliable. Usually have a game that can translate with any style of play, and shine in hard gritty games. That's more like Öhgren's game... BUT the truth is, you can't teach pure skill, and this kid has it in spades. Right shot too. He works hard and once taught how to defend better, put on some weight, get stronger, he'll be a decent 200 ft player. He'll work at it. He has the right temperament. He was compared to a slower Willie Nylander... I agree with that assessment at this point, but I think Lekke will be more devoted to becoming a better all around player.
  14. It's standard until the management team has exhausted all scenarios... It's been the media and fans that have assumed there's no option but trading JT. However, Rutherford and Allvin have mentioned more than once, they're looking to keep him if they can. What I'm wondering, is are the nucks management pitching to JT's camp how his own career took off since he's been here. That he's settled and has great chemistry with his teammates... Really... Will he have a better opportunity then what he's already got? "Take 6 years at 8, front loaded with performance bonuses and a modified (10 team) no trade clause...and win with this core that you are a big part of." I'm starting to feel that he wants to stay, and is contemplating taking less. Tell me I'm wrong....
  15. Voted good... Should be a how the &^@# should I know option! I think our previous administration has left us with residual yips... 'Once bitten twice shy'... &^@# it.... We suffer from PTSD... Period. Look, the new guys just got here. Give them a moment to turn the ship around... Take a deep breath. We're okay. There drafting at first glance looks decent all things considered. Kemmel vs Lekkemimaki, "who was the best pick", has just begun... It's all going to come down to development of these guys in the end anyway. We just have to be patient. Let's see what the next week brings and go from there. Would I prefer, Yzerman, Sakic or Drury as our GM... Probably but Allvin may end up being one of the better ones on this list. I'm just so glad that we have moved on from previous 'management'. Healing can begin lol!
  16. I'm not as excited as I was for podkolzin.... But like podz, and especially Hughes, he fell to us. Based on skill alone, he was top 10. We should be happy for sure. However, what I am excited most about is our new upgrades made development department. I'm really looking forward to seeing the results from the focus put into staffing full time support for our prospects in Europe and here at home in Abby. The Benning regime also preached developing their prospects but they didn't have the staffing in Europe to help those prospect or even enough in North America. Ryan Johnson and Chris Higgins did great work but they weren't given enough support. I'm very encouraged. With the proper development, Lekkerimäki could end up being a perennial 30-40 goal scorer playing with Petey. And being defensively responsible. Good start for new regime!
  17. Short of a major injury, he'll probably be playing in North America in draft +2 year (he'll be 19 turning 20).
  18. I hold out hope because this isn't JB and JW... This is JR and PA. That might mean patience and a trade before FA.
  19. No... They're already looking great up front, without Giroux. With him, they will be scoring 5 goals a game average... But letting in 6!
