  1. So vegas will slip him onto the LTIR and then bring him back on day one of the playoffs? This is kucherov 2.0. I'm hoping the league can close up this cap circumvention loop hole in the future. I would like a rule that a player has to play at least 20 regular season games (AHL or NHL) in order to be eligible for the stanley cup playoffs. I mean come on, kucherov couldn't play all year but miraculously could play game 1 and look healthier than any other player in the league... but of course he couldn't play any regular season games, he wasn't ready.
  2. So Tkachuk Matthew Coronato (13th OA in 2021) A 1st in 2022 + 2 prospects For Eichel's huge contract and bad back? Crazy gamble.
  3. That's actually good value. Would save Toronto 6.3 million a year and the chances of Toronto being a lottery team are slim to none.
  4. More money, 4 years older, less points, big time injury history.... no way I take him over Garland.
  5. Wonder what happens with Bergevin (director of player personnel with Chicago in 2010) no way he didn't know even though he denys it.
  6. He will burn a year of his contract whether he is in the AHL or NHL. Rathbone is in the 3rd and final year of his ELC.
  7. If you don't think 9 points in 8 ahl games as a 20 year old defenseman is impressive than I can't carry on this conversation. Cheers.
  8. His numbers haven't been impressive? I'd say 31 points in 28 ncaa games is pretty impressive. 9 points in 8 games last season in the AHL and 3 points in 8 NHL games at 20 years of age is pretty darn impressive. The guy is a great skater with an excellent toolbox and high hockey IQ. Do you think other scouts haven't noticed? As for trading him away what is your hurry? He is on an ELC and waiver exempt until 2023. Develope him, reap the rewards and then one day if his value outweighs his benefits to the team you sell high.
  9. Rathbone is waiver exempt so there was no need to move him. They could simply send him to the AHL to develope further. But if you truly believe that Rathbone doesn't have value around the NHL I would love to know what strain you are smoking.
  10. Id take a stab at him for sure. Doubt he makes it down the wire to us though
  11. Is waiver fodder a better term? He wasn't good enough to make our team and was about to be lost for nothing. JB managed to turn nothing into something, the analogy isn't far off. BTW chicken poop is a good fertilizer. Chicken manure provides Nitrogen, Phosphorus and Potassium to your plants (more than horse, cow or steer manure). So don't knock it!
  12. I'm super impressed with Burroughs and don't see how Juulsen sees any nhl ice unless there are multiple injuries. I'm happy for Juulsen to be able to play in his hometown of Abbotsford and thankful that JB salvaged a #9 dman when we clearly would have lost OJ on waivers. As for Lammikko, I'm really liking his addition. Great motor, good size, plays a heavy game and good defensively. Looks like JB turned chicken poop to chicken soup.
  13. Heard a stat on the post game show last night. Quinn lead all players in time of possession with 3:30 , second place was Provorov with 1:45. He had the puck on his stick more than double the nearest player. That is truly impressive.
  14. A 2 way deal doesn't make him waiver ineligible... only in the ea sports universe.
  15. Better to let him dominate the AHL and then trade him when his value is sky high. As to the proposed trade and value, I'd say a 40 point dman would be worth a lot more than a solid 3rd line center.
  16. Shhhh, his parents haven't told him about that yet!!!! What's next? You going to rat out the Easter bunny and Santa?
