    It’s still amazing to me how people still complain about the Rangers rebuild being better than ours, but every time don’t realize they had many more tradeable and valuable assets than we had.

    No passing away has come to shake me as much as Botch's, at least recently. I literally can't believe this.

     

    I've always loved him, and say what you will about his journalism, but he was the heartbeat of Canucks journalism forever and a truly great man.

     

    I suggest you guys read Wyatt Arndt's tweets to get a feel of what he was all about. This is truly saddening and I feel numb right now.

      @Dazzle That's a POS comment, fans like you are the reason why Canucks fans get a bad name. There's a time and a place to critique someone's work. If you didn't agree with his takes that is fine but your comment is incredibly insensitive. Botch did so much for young writers and he was one of the few media members who listened to the fans. Maybe if you actually read his work you wouldn't be so quick to call him negative.

      I feel the exact same way. I don't think I've ever felt this way about someone dying who I have never met. We truly lost the voice of the fans.

      I think we'd be pretty lucky if any of those D became Noah Hanifin. I'd definitely trade 7 for Hanifin assuming Hughes is gone.

    I think the tough love with Hutton will have a good effect on him.  I believe the Canucks want him in their line up but he needs to put the work in.  A quicker and less fatigued Ben Hutton will be a great addition next season.

      Concerns of Hutton are a bit blown out of proportion IMO. He was one of our best D at the beginning of the year and his play dropped off as his ice time dropped off. I thought him and Tanev were a great pairing. Seems like the writing is on the wall for him though, I'd be surprised if he is a Canuck by the start of next year.

      Bouchard doesn’t strike me as a super dynamic player. I don’t think he has the same upside as a lot of D in this draft. His skating is also a concern for me. Hughes, Boqvist, and Dobson are the only D that interest me in the range that the Canucks are likely picking. I’d rather pick a forward like Wahlstrom or Kotkaniemi than Bouchard.

      @48MPHSlapShot Should be way better than it is right now with how bad we've been. Imagine how much better it could be if he got more draft picks. We're on year 4 and were still a minimum 3 years away from being a playoff contender so if you think a 7-8 year rebuild qualifies as a success, then sure Benning has done great. Keep drinking that "good prospect pool" juice though while you completely ignore the many problems/mistakes that this management group has made.

    Craig Button offered some words of encouragement on THN last night.  Said the rebuild is going to be a lot faster than most people realise and we got a fairly well stacked pool of prospects at every position.
