I remember that too, but it was never a real comparison between McDavid and Eichel. Writing articles on a consensus number 1 for an entire year that people have known for years leading up to the draft don't sell clicks. I think Bedard definitely go number 1 but it'll be a bit closer than McDavid vs Eichel.

Was just going to say Hischier is shaping up to be a strong 2-way player. Always was even in Junior, but is rounding out to form in the national league this year. Might even have a slight edge on Petey so far on this season alone in terms of Selke candidacy.

Let' say we fast forward to the end of the season, JTM finishes at just about PPG (80 points) and Horvat finishes either slightly above or slightly below (78-85 pts). How much is Bo signing for? Defensively better, a center, a faceoff beast, couple years younger but had a career year and is signing for less offensive production than what JTM produced (99 pts) at the time of signing his contract. Curious on any guesses as to what the AAV would be on that

I’ve always been jealous of organizations like the Red Wings and the Lightning that make mediocre players good. We are the opposite where we make ruin careers of fringe NHL players. I would argue we ruin the careers of good NHL players too. It’s embarrassing.

Yes, but a babysitter for OEL will hopefully activate his offensive prowess. The guy scored 20 goals on the coyotes, we need him back. Defenseman age well and there has to be some sort of revival for him somewhere.

honestly this should go viral. Anything to get their attention and let them know that the fans deserve better. i agree, the team is built poorly. Wrong mix of talented players. We made fun of the Calgary flames for not rebuilding and being stuck in mediocrity for years back in the Iginla - Kippursoff era and now we’re doing the same thing. It’s embarrassing.
