And so does 29 other teams right? Easier said then done.
Restructure the team? That makes no sense because the Canucks are already competetive team. And re-structuring is far from a sure thing. Trade the Sedins/Kesler/Defense/whatever and you are far from guaranteed a cup because who knows what sort of chemistry you'll end up with. Look at EDM. Great young impact players but overall weak as a team. COL is doing well but they were far from a sure thing for quite awhile. Again, restructuring the team is an unnecesary risk when you have a very competetive team that can play well in an already competetive conference.
Plus you forget the human element. Players play well at different times. That is the nature of being an athlete unless you are someone special like Sydney Crosby. Sometimes athletes come together and play great like ANH and SJ is doing now, but a couple of years ago people were seriously doubting whether there was anything left. Point is, if players have the skill and the compete level you have to place trust in them. Canucks have a good core, and who knows how they will do this year but in the long run the Canucks are a competetive team, with young players coming up.
