  1. A lil too exciting PK for me. Nice dangle by Petey tho Hearing the Madison Square Gardens organ is pretty sweet
  2. I really hope Jett Woo pans out. Judd Brackett lobbied hard for him. If Woo/Rathbone can become NHL mainstays over the next 2 years that would be awesome. More longterm/long shot prospects are Persson (imo hes gonna be an NHLr) and I think Myrenberg has potential.
  3. Thinking about some of the albums over the years that are start to finish fantastic: CONVERGE: Jane Doe (2001) DRAGGED INTO SUNLIGHT: Hatred for Mankind (2009) HIS HERO IS GONE: Monument to Thieves (1997)
  4. You can, but these three have proven chemistry, are cost effective and play their role to a tee. Id go with with that any day of the week over a revolving door/ineffective 3/4 lines. Plus they are all PKrs. Focus on moving inefficient contracts that dont push the needle forward. These guys do.
  5. I dont know why youd want to trade any of these guys right now (assuming they want to re-sign w/Canucks). They are all relatively young, cost effective (depending on what Motte wants) and bring exactly what a bottom 6 needs. Canucks should keep these guys (if possible)
  6. Bruce There It Is is on a platter… although I have a feeling BB might express his annoyance (deep down he loves the bass/synth line). Still hoping for the day this song gets played before a faceoff etc.
  7. wow, i picked a good time to check in. Hopefully my next check in (after the game) is just as awesome
  8. Harissa stew: Crushed tomatoes, zuchinni, chickpeas, garlic, ginger, harissa spice etc. with some charred up beyond burger for a bit of extra protein. Baked naan bread croutons bam!
  9. The Americans is a darn fine show. Halfway through S1 and the wife and I are hooked. If it can keep it up S1-S6….it might dethrone some previous favourites.

Personally, I thought Breaking Bad was slightly overrated. The last season is a masterpiece though.

I will have to check out the Americans, running out of TV shows to watch

@J-23I really enjoyed Ozark and think the Americans has potential to beat that.   Lots of stuff happens right from the get-go

Finished Ozark. Love it. Just finishing Peaky Blinders as well, another amazing show with a star cast.

  10. If Miller isnt in the team’s future plans, I dont want to see him start next year with the Canucks. Things tend to get messy/distracting in those situations and I would much rather see the team avoid that. Plus you risk a down year or even injury with Miller which given Canuck luck is highly probable. As for offers-theyre only going to diminish as time goes on. Im confident that if a trade happens at the TDL or during the off season-the return will be good (enough). Maybe not the lofty 4 player returns people are hoping for, but definitely a 1st round pick and a top prospect, maybe a decent value third piece/roster player. There’s a lot of parity btw the top playoff contending teams, and adding a Miller for this year’s playoffs and next could be very enticing. Really, it all depends on what teams are willing to spend/bid on Miller.
  11. If Miller is ultimately being moved (doesnt want to re-sign in VAN/management wants to accumulate younger players) then waiting to deal him at next seasons TDL is a bad idea imo. If the team is very close or in a playoff spot, trading a premier player sends mixed messages to the team. Best to trade him at this year’s TDL or in the off season at the latest, and get your roster sorted out beforehand/roll with it. People complain about mixed messaging and this to me would seem like an obvious example of it.
  12. I was impressed with Gadj’s nose for the net. Guy just had a natural ability to rack up points. If things dont work out with the Sharks Id love to see him re unite in VAN
  13. I think the lack of a grinding game you see only speaks to my point of Bo maybe not having ideal linemates. The puck more often than not, following the rush ends up along the boards. Its the lack of second/third chances that seem to hurt Bo’s offense. When he was playing with Leivo that whole line would forecheck, dig the puck out/start a cycle and a lot of that line’s offense was created that way. Leivo was a good shooter off the rush as well. IMO Bo would do well with guys that can support in tight/always hunt down loose pucks, and continually cycle/drive the net. If that’s not the philosophy coaching/management see, fair enough.
  14. When Pearson/Leivo were with Bo, you’d see them win puck battles down low, try to set up the FWD in the slot area, cycle/cycle to the point. I think O zone possession has been harder on Horvat b/c he hasnt really gotten the right chemistry with his linemates (since Leivo/Pearson). Garland is tenacious so if they cant find a different RW option/he doesnt get traded- that’s who I would pencil in. Nick Paul is like a tougher, more offensive version of Dickinson. Not by a huge stretch but good enough that he could develop some better chemistry/production with Bo. IMO Pearson/Dickinson are going to get moved in the off season.
  15. Paul suits the wing imo. At C reminds me of Dickinson-can do the job but his strengths suit him at LW. He reminds me of Leivo in some ways, a bit more rugged tho.
  16. Lots of trade talk re: Horvat. This post focuses on what to do if he’s to be re-signed by the Canucks. IMO Horvat is a grinder/PF with some skill, great FO player. We’ve seen different wingers with him and so far, the winger I’ve liked best has been Leivo, followed by Hoagie (when he was more on top of his game). The wingers that I think suit him best are 2 way, rugged wingers that can win battles/get to loose pucks. Leivo was fantastic at this and had good enough hands to finish or make quick short passes. I think Horvat hasnt been able to establish a proper identity with his wingers/linemates. I think something like Lammikko’s line with a bit more ruggedness is what Horvat needs to be successful. And speed is crucial. Horvat plays a ton of mins and often gets exposed when his wingers arnt fleet of foot. He’s gotta pace him self/time when to be explosive. So with this all in mind, Id like to see some new players targeted that could compliment him. Possible options already on the team are: Podz Hoagie (less so, maybe too much too soon) Motte What are some good UFA or trade targets? I havnt been watching OTT at all this year but wonder if Nick Paul could be a fit. Discuss.
  17. Absolutely keep Motte if he’s willing to do 2.0-2.5 over 3/4 years. He’s coming into his prime, and (imo) will be a Hansen like player with some versatility. Re-sign Lammer/Highmore 2-3 years and youve got an effective line you know is gonna bring it. Focus on moving contracts that dont push the needle forward.
  18. If ARZ is smart they’ll be chasing young players, and Canucks dont really have the ability to make that deal. Betting on Rathbone/Hoglander getting better is a good one.
