  1. Curious what players the Canucks could target that play a heavy game. The Brendan Dillon’s of the world etc. Mean, hard to play against guys that can be 2 way contributors. Discuss.
  2. OEL’s NMC is still in effect I believe. The other team he said he was willing to goto was BOS
  3. hopefully followed by feelings of dread, then utter hopelessness
  4. ive really wanted the Canucks to pry Crouse out of ARZ-he’s a friggin tree trunk out there. I dont know about the 1st though, too much value for a guy that might not put up numbers ala Dickinson. But hes a nasty one thats for sure
  5. Ive been banging the Nick Paul drum for awhile but I havnt watched OTT at all this season. Rakell or Butcher maybe
  6. Poolman would have some value, given hes a RH shot and could be of value to a rebuilding team that needs some stability in the back end. Maybe a B level prospect, or 3rd round pick. I dunno.
  7. I really liked Guenther, but Garland can still net some positive return either in the line up or trade. The latter half of OEL’s contract will be significant (I wonder tho-his game is built on being smooth and solid in all areas, not so much on raw athleticism or explosiveness. so maybe he can be a contributor in the back half of his career/we will see)
  8. After 2 min of the Funeral Scene, Im already convinced Robert Pattinson is going to be the best Bruce Wayne.  Im looking so forward to this movie.

@Angry Goose Batman Year One, is the Batman I like. Not The Dark Knight Returns.

  9. Scoring & defence are probably the two biggest concerns, with speed/toughness being factors that elevate how competitive a team is from “decent” to “challenging”. Assuming Miller doesnt want to sign a reasonable term and cap hit, and Brock is looking for a payday on his next contract, I would: re-sign (if possible): Motte 3-4 years at 1.75-2mill Lammikko 2-3 years at 1-1.5mill Highmore 2-3 years at 1-1.5mill Trade: Miller Boeser Hamonic Poolman (Burroughs can step in) Garland (only if necessary/in the context of other trades ) Halak Keep (for now): Meyers Pearson Schenn Re-sign (eventually): Horvat Try and address the needs above with youth.
  10. Im not familiar with Prokop-describe his game if you dont mind? Also, looking at cap friendly, genuinely was surprised how well NSH is doing with all that cap space. That team has options.
  11. The Hughes bros are a great PR story for NJ. No chance they move off that yet so early into their careers with the Devils.
  12. With some of the trade chatter going around, it’ll be interesting to see what sort of plan management has in mind.  Lots of current roster players that I bet* dont want to see the team take a step back. Player trades could have some disastrous consequences if they dont pan out.

    *My belief, could be wrong.

i've heard that a team built right is built from the backend first.

      hughes  -------------

      OEL      --------------

      ---------   -----------

      ----------   schenn

when that's done, it's strength up the middle.

this my thought, maybe not theirs

@Devronseriously wonder if it’s serious or not.  I suspect it is, but I wait.  seriously.

  13. Myers has been a difference maker under Boudreau. Do not want to see him moved. If the Canucks trade Miller/Garland/Poolman/Hamonic, Canucks need to acquire either through trade or UFA: a top 4 RH D and a top 9 C. EP, BH and another solid C would be great down the middle. Re-sign Lammikko for 4th line C and we good. Hughes/Myers OEL/mobile RH Rathbone/Schenn/Burroughs Lots of cap space and assets to figure out your wingers as well.
  14. Schenn has been solid but has been prone to turnovers due to his lack of mobility. Id like to see what happens when you get two mobile guys paired together- helping cover each other with the added skating. Their neutral zone defending would be a treat to watch. Myers has been a totally different defenseman under Boudreau and Id like to see how/if he compliments Hughes. If OEL is more of a steady 2 way defender (like Myers), acquiring another RD, hopefully a mobile puckmover could give the top 4 some sizzle.
  15. Hughes/Myers OEL/?? Rathbone/Schenn Burroughs Im ok with moving Hamonic/Poolman if they can find an offensive upgrade to pair with OEL. Might give the D a bit more sizzle.
