Keenan: Panthers Were Offered Thornton For Luongo In '05/06

I would definitely take Thornton for Luongo. Move Kesler to the wing, and you have a BEAST of a 2nd line.

But I don't see San Jose doing that. They're going to try to dump Marleau instead.

Lets trade Luongo for Thornton now lol... Even though Thornton is a somewhat "no show" for playoffs, I really wouldn't mind him on our team. We get our play making big center and two killer power play units whoever AV would decide who plays with who. Playing us last year in the playoffs, Thornton had some dominating shifts against our solid defense. We'd have to add some pieces to sweeten the pot, and make some other moves, but Jumbo Joe would look good in a Canucks Jersey.

Daniel - Henrik - Burrows

Booth - Thornton - Kesler

Higgins - Pahlsson - Hansen

Malholtra - Lapierre - ______

Kesler on the shut down line will still get his 19+ minutes (much like Pavelski did when playing on the Shark's third line in previous years)... This way we can roll out 3 lines if we wanted and use the 4th line if playing with the lead or if players need the extra shift off...
