Special Ed
Thread title is giving me a tough time this morning. 'confirmed mags not qualified after mg said mags was qualified'. Soooooooooo.
arsenalian
I'm starting to doubt all that comes out of his mouth.
AnInconvenienceBrah
Yeah not a fan of that lie Gillis laid out there all he had to say was we're working on it, I understand why we didn't as we need to clear up room to make us more attractive option for Schultz but Gillis should tell the fans he qualified a player he didn't, or he could've easily said no comment on that or one of his cheeky comments like why would I tell you?.. bd71
GMs lie. The sooner you realize and accept that, the sooner you'll enjoy the trades/rumours forums
arsenalian
GMs avoid questions or maybe anonymously drop some rumours to esteemed members of the media but they really shouldn't straight out lie. I can understand misleading questions or saying there is interest for a player when there isn't etc but what's to gain by saying on a local radio show that you have qualified a player that you have not in fact qualified? It's just all strange to me. Things don't seem right with the GM right now.
JLumme
I thought he was a talented puck moving defenseman that 'don't come along everyday'...
soshified
Sooo MAG still isn't qualified? If so, that's lame. All MAG really needs to imrpove on is his D abilities.
Lumme21
Makes room for Schultz and Garrison. Niether will sign here unless they are promised quality ice time including powerplay mintues. Get her done MG - Sign them up!
hudson bay rules
I'm sure MAG wasn't surprised as he'd either hear directly from the club or his agent rather than a "news clip"
oldnews
I wonder if qualifying Gragnani on his RFA contract (his third) would have meant a one way deal - you never know, it is still possible the Canucks could sign him to a two way deal as a UFA after July 1st if he goes unsigned..? More likely they have other guys in mind, and the Luongo deal could bring another prospect as well...

Trade Deadline
Only makes sense GMMG is sure enough of another defensive addition to subtract MAG from the picture. There's a reason he wasn't qualified.
Melbourne Canuck
I was certain I heard that from Gillis on 1040 a week or so back so I was a little surprised when I read that MAG wasn't qualified. FWIW I think he is still worth retaining.
