Spent $20 and went to the All-Star Wrestling show in Cloverdale last night

I used to go all the time before I got hooked on ECCW.  ASW just seemed budget after that.  Though it's well worth the price of admission just for people watching, LOL!

How was it?  I may have to start going again.  It's like a 15 minutes walk from my house.

- As seen on Monday's WWE RAW during The Rock's return segment, fans dressed as WWE Legends Hulk Hogan, The Undertaker, Randy Savage and Rock were shown at ringside.

Before Rock's segment, the fan dressed as Savage was doing various Macho Man mannerisms and this is why fans were chanting "Randy Savage" during the show. WWE officials backstage did not like the chants and after the Kane vs. Bray Wyatt match, security was sent to tell the fans to calm it down. According to The Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the fans were taken out at one point but let back in and told to calm down, which they did.

Then while The Rock was cutting a promo, he saw the fans at ringside and went to speak to them on camera. According to The Observer, people backstage were "freaking" because they were already mad at those fans for distracting the crowd, and now they were getting TV time. The feeling was that if anyone else besides John Cena would have done the same thing, they would have been fired, but Rock can pretty much do what he wants and go off-scrip

Yeah I've been to ECCW one too a while ago and that seemed a bit more higher end so to speak.

It was not bad, went to see a buddy perform who is just starting out.  Jinder Mahal was there for the main event, so I guess he was kind of the main attraction.  They announced Davie Richards from TNA for the next show as well.  The cruser weight match was actually decent and fast paced.

The only ASW show I have gone to, and the ones that I've still considered going to, are a 5 minute drive from my house, by the Scottish Cultural Centre in Marpole. It's a matter of convenience in that respect, and having a show that close by works very well in its favour, even if the events are rare.

Matt Xstatic (sp?) is pretty awesome. Would like to see more of him. Azeem was a great heel. Really worked the crowd, and the group of other Indians that were sitting beside us (don't think he was targetting me specifically.) It was the show based around Mr.India going over, so it probably really worked in their favour that their was an entire row of Indian guys just sitting there.

Sucks for me that most ASW and ECCW shows are out in Cloverdale.

It's a fun little promotion, though nothing of real calibre in its wrestling. Jinder Mahal was at this last show, which was cool. Thought about going, knowing he was there.

The Rock is a legend, enough said. I've never met him in person, but based on what I see on camera and other people's opinions of him, he's really one of the kindest guys you could ever meet. He just enjoys life, and makes others around him happy.

As his wrestling persona, yeah. But I'm assuming he's intentionally doing it at this point, because that's how the Rock has always been.

I've watched a bunch of stuff involving Dwayne Johnson (including his new show "Ballers"), and I think he's a pretty good comedian in his own right.

Kits I can do. Maybe I will.

Thinking about heading to that ASW show that was mentioned above as well, even if it's in Cloverdale. Davie Richards is a very, very good reason to attend a show. Probably one of the last he could do realistically, with TNA planning to lock down their talents indie appearances in almost a WWE way, which they didn't before. Like if you work one of these shows, TNA begins to take a cut.

Not sure if this has been seen or posted

But having met him and growing up watching him and his family wrestling a few times this kinda sucks

http://www.torontosun.com/2016/02/01/wrestling-legend-bret-hart-has-prostate-cancer

It is with great remorse that I feel compelled to speak truthfully to my friends, family and my millions of fans around the world. In the past few years, I've spent more than enough time paying the price for all those years trying to be the best there ever was as a professional wrestler. I executed excellently and my proudest claim was that I never seriously hurt or injured another wrestler in my 23 year career.

I've paid a price for all that "fake" wrestling ... Mark Helprin wrote: "We are all perfect clocks that Divinity has set to ticking when, even before birth, the heart explodes into a lifelong dance." I've had a great lifelong dance and I'm a survivor of many hard battles. I now face my toughest battle. With hesitation and fear, I openly declare myself in my fight against prostate cancer. In the next few days, I will undergo surgery with the hope of defeating this nemesis once and for all. My fans have always looked upon me as a hero and I've always done my best to live up to that in and out of the ring. I beat the odds when I suffered my stroke in 2002, but it is now yet again, that I ... stand unafraid and face the tough road ahead of me, I will march toward this destiny with his spirit chanting in my ear.

I make a solemn vow to all of those that once believed in me, the dead and the living, that I will wage my fearsome fight against cancer with one shield and one sword carrying my determination and my fury for life, emboldened by all the love that's kept me going this long already. Love is my weapon and I've got much of it around me all the time, for which I'm truly blessed and eternally grateful. My children, grandchildren, and my loving wife Steph have been and will constantly be at my side. I refuse to lose, I will never give in or give up, and I will win this battle or die trying. Most important of all, I hope can take the fight to prostate cancer. To be a leader in awareness and to set the example for men everywhere who find themselves in my very same shoes, that prostate cancer can be beaten. B x

Wrestling legend Bret “Hitman” Hart is in for the biggest fight of his life.

The 58-year-old Canadian – real name Bret Sergeant Hart – revealed Monday he's battling prostate cancer.

“I've had a great lifelong dance and I'm a survivor of many hard battles,” Hart said in a heartfelt Instagram post Monday morning. “I now face my toughest battle.

“With hesitation and fear, I openly declare myself in my fight against prostate cancer.”

The five-time WWE World Heavyweight Champion will undergo surgery this week.

This isn't Hart's first health battle. The WWE hall of famer suffered a stroke in 2002 following a biking accident.

“My fans have always looked upon me as a hero and I've always done my best to live up to that in and out of the ring,” Hart continued.

“I make a solemn vow to all of those that once believed in me, the dead and the living, that I will wage my fearsome fight against cancer with one shield and one sword carrying my determination and my fury for life, emboldened by all the love that's kept me going this long already.”

The 6-foot, 235-pound Hart has four children.

He retired from professional wrestling in 2000 following a 22-year career that included stops in World Championship Wrestling (WCW), the World Wrestling Federation (WWF) and Stampede Wrestling.

The guy was one of my heroes growing up. To this day, he is probably one of my very favourites of all time. In terms of wrestling, I think he is objectively the best of all time.

I've read through most of his book, and I enjoy hearing what the man still has to say about wrestling today. I hope I get the chance to hear a lot more still.

I've only been to a few in Kits because of the travel, but they do put on a hell of a show.  They ended up out front on the street one night. Well worth the $18 bucks or so.

That's one thing I like about ASW and ECCW, though ECCW doesn't really bring outside wrestlers in much anymore.  They mostly depend on the talent they have to sell shows.  Richards would be good to see, believe he appeared for ASW once before with Angelina Love.

Through ASW and ECCW I've seen Honkey Tonk Man, Brutus Beefcake (who is massive btw), DH Smith, Gangrel, Tommy Dreamer, Short Sleve Sampson, DDP, Val Venis, The Godfather, Jeff Jarret. I'm sure there are a few I've missed.  Some are really nice and others you can tell are just there for the money.  A few look like they just hate their lives and need the $50 bucks, LOL! (Val Venis comes to mind)

Personally, I think locking down talents is stupid, especially for TNA, They need the exposure.

Sunny challenges Chyna to a Sex Match.

http://www.tmz.com/2016/02/02/tammy-sytych-chyna-sex-wwe/

Quote

Tammy Sytch is licking her chops at the release of her celeb porn video that hit the Internet Monday and challenged former wrestler turned porn star Chyna to a match.

Now that she's prime time in the porn world, Tammy's taking the opportunity to challenge her friend Chyna, telling us ... "without a doubt she can kick my ass in the wrestling ring, but I really don't think she stands a chance against me where it matters most. In the bedroom."

Tammy's feeling confident, now that her Vivid Entertainment video "Sunny Side Up" is live on the web, but remember ... Chyna is no stranger to the porn ring.

Tammy even gave her the option of either a one-on-one sex match or they could bring in a man and see who taps out first.

Let the games begin!
