I dont follow mlb much but the jays were supposed to be favourites and now they are last in their div

Was it injuries or just under performing?

Starting pitching was an absolute joke.

Actually should say is, not was

Under performing IMO no excuses for a stacked team like that

That's it.

I officially blame JJ for most of our problems this year.

If he had been the pitcher he has been all of his career the Jays would have 6-7 less loses and 6-7 more wins. The playoff race would be within close reach.

This crap of blowing up a game in the first 3 innings is garbage. I can't believe he has an option for $14 mil next year and the Jays will likely have to pick it up.

What's wrong with JJ?

Well, his confident is at an all time low, he's leaving his fastballs and his sliders up in the zone, and he has never done well against the AL, even before he became a Jays.

do you think the Jays can make a late season push? at least wildcard?

Honestly, no chance in hell.

However, the Rays and Cardinals were 9/9.5 games back, in the final month of the season and made the playoffs in 2012. So there is some hope, but they need to get really lucky.

What happened to Toronto :picard:

High expectations, nonetheless they disappoint, nothing new in the world of sports in Toronto

If you've learned anything, it's to never have high expectations for a Toronto sports team unless they play in an 8-team league in which 6 teams make the playoffs or they are playing in a lockout-shortened season.

Lol. So true, most TO. teams aren't that great.

Jays, Raps, Leafs the last decade, Argos are whatever, Toronto FC,

In the next couple years, the Raps will be great. Not sure about the Leafs though.

So after 110 games the Blue Jays are 50 - 60 (.455) and 16.0 games back of Boston and 11.0 games back in the wild card race. And here's how they got there:

Games 1 - 10: 4 - 6 ; 1.5 games back (Boston/NY); WCGB: 1.5 games (Apr 12)

Games 11 - 20: 4 - 6 ; 5.5 games back (Boston); WCGB: 3.5 games (Apr 22)

Games 21 - 30: 2 - 8 ; 10.5 games back (Boston); WCGB: 7.5 games (May 3)

Games 31 - 40: 6 - 4; 9.5 games back (Yankees); WCGB: 6.5 games (May 14)

Games 41 - 50: 5 - 5; 9.5 games back (NY/Boston); WCGB: 6.5 games (May 26)

Games 51 - 60: 5 - 5; 10.5 games back (Boston); WCGB: 8.5 games (June 7)

Games 61 - 70: 8 - 2; 8.5 games back (Boston); WCGB: 4.5 games (June 18)

Games 71 - 80: 6 - 4; 7.5 games back (Boston); WCGB: 5.0 games (June 29)

Games 81 - 90: 4 - 6; 10.0 games back (Boston); WCGB: 6.5 games (July 10)

Games 91 - 100: 1 - 9; 14.5 games back (Boston); WCGB: 11.0 games (July 24)

Games 101 - 110: 5 - 5; 16.0 games back (Boston); WCGB: 11.0 games (Aug 3)

The good news is that the Jays didn't lose any ground in the wild card race. The bad news is that the Jays didn't make up any ground in the wild card race.

The next set of ten games see the Jays play the Angels once, the Mariners four times, the Athletics four times and the Red Sox twice. They'll win some and they'll lose some and they'll probably be in pretty much the same situation as they are in today.

Sigh.
