Dogbyte
Funny Schneider lost all 3 games to the sharks this season and Luongo has a great record against them but fans have no faith in him...Don't matter what Lu does from some people he will never get credit or liked

Cobra!
Is it possible that AV and MG feel as though the last couple game LU has played may have left a bad taste in the mouths of potential trade partners? Maybe they're giving Lu a chance to shine in the playoffs so that it'll be easier to deal him in the off-season. If this is true, although it sounds like a very risky thing to do in the playoffs, I don't think I necessarily disagree with it. 1. Lu is still a fantastic goalie who historically hasn't strung together more than a couple bad games, and generally bounces back well. 2. It's only Game 1 we have time to recover if he doesn't bounce back well. 3. Not being able to trade Lu in the off-season would be a MAJOR problem that would tax this organization for years, and would probably swing the pendulum towards Aquilini wanting to fire MG. 4. May get Lu some of his swagger back so that if we need to call on him in the SCF, he won't be left with a bad taste in HIS mouth that could mess with his confidence. TheCammer
how many times in 94 did kirk meltdown beyond embarassment ? how many cry baby quotes did he give the media after his losses? Mclean 94 save% .928 GAA 2.28 Luongo 11 save% .914 GAA 2.56 Mclean had better numbers in a era where he wore 1/3rd the pads luongo wears and there was way more goal scoring back then. 94 was a team of hard workers, roster top to bottom who never gave up on anyshift and played at the higest level of hockey any of them have ever played Mclean never came to the canucks as a saviour and the missing peice and prasied as the best goalie in the world he just came and went to work .....2011 team best team in the league wich was 1 goal away from the worst embarrassment in NHL history in the first round mutiple meltdowns by luongo and the team and the team from top to bottom in the finals blew it .. thats why the 94 run will always be better only kids that are 10 years old now will look back on the 2011 run. Noheart
Schneider hasn't even played a full season as starter yet in this city, if you think the fans are the reason for his anxiety when he's played this little amount of games then I don't even want to see how bad it gets when he plays a full season as starter. TimberWolf
HA! But we are Vancouver Canucks fans first and foremost. I, like others opine that Schneider is better than Luongo, but that doesn't mean that when Luongo is in net, I won't cheer for him to have success. Chaos Giraffe
This is probably part of MG and AV's elaborate plan to fool all of us. Schneider gets injured, and Luongo comes to take over the starting role for a few games while Cannata backs him up. Schneider is better by Game 1, and everyone assumes he'll start, but instead, he backs up Luongo. Suddenly, Luongo gets a freakish toilet malfunction where the toilet is clogged up and the team bathroom overflows. Schneider steps in as the savior, and shuts out the Sharks for the rest of the period. During the intermission, he goes to use the washroom, but is hit by the sudden flow of water as he opens the door and is knocked unconsious. Cannata steps in wearing his equipment, but no one notices until they discover that he has a soul, and bras are thrown onto the ice until Cowan walks in through the back entrance and scores six goals in four games. Suddenly, he was the saviour, and and dons the pads to complete the cinderella run to the Stanley Cup. Then they discover Lack run over by a zamboni. Schneider is still at large as the VPD continues to charge 2011 rioters two years after the incident.
