Kesler and Higgins both have wicked wristers. What they're incapable of doing is creating time and space for themselves. A playmaker like St. Louis or Thornton could do wonders for their game. In the San Jose series Kesler played really well, but played alright in the La series. Daniel Sedin played great in his two games against LA but was a plug in the Sj series. Burrows wasn't great in either series, but was much better than Higgins and Hansen. Henrik was missing Daniel in the LA series but was being held back by Daniel. But consistency isn't their biggest fan That's not enough. This draft has Mantha, Vanier, Collins and Mattsson for the big D. Gaunce can be our 3rd line C. Horvat and or Shinkaruk can possibly cover sniping and or playmaking duties. This leaves us feasibly leaves us looking for a legit play maker, a legit sniper and or a legit PMD. Moulson, Vanek, Niskanen, Boyes, Cammaleri and Steen are all UFA at seasons end, and Campbell would have 1 year left on a monster contract at $7.14 million who could be had for cheap, and if we got FLA to eat salary.... Honestly, it isn't as bad as people want to believe if they just look Why does everyone just forget that Santorelli is producing at a .6ish PPG. He is an average 2C and an elite 3C. What we are lacking is a 2nd line or 1st line sniper, depending where we put Kesler... We need a 35+ Goal scorer. We do not need another player witha great shot but no playmaking abilities. Number one thing I yell at my tv is "shoot!" Followed by "f***in' edler" and "Luooooooooo." They pass way too much on the powerplay and when they do shoot it's into the defender or at the goalies crest. A bonafide sniper would go along way, takes heat off the Sedins. A playmaker centre would be nice, leave Kes on the wing except in certain faceoff situations. We need to move one of our higher paid D-men which doesn't seem possible.
