Lucic says he'll never go to DT Vancouver

Recommended Posts

To put this on Vancouver as a city is misplaced.

Other 'local boys' playing for hated rivals have won big games in Vancouver and have gone around the city with no incident.

Joe Sakic, for example. Steve Yzerman for another. Scott Niedermayer?

But these guys has class and maturity. Lucic, comparatively, does not.

The 'local boy' card only works if you have the class and the maturity to go with it.

Lucic should've known better than to go out and get loaded in this case and engage with other chirping meatheads while being intoxicated in a nightclub. imho He needs to gain more maturity and class. Like the aforementioned legit 'local heroes.'

imho This incident is providing 100% deflection from the Bruins' horrible, horrible performance on Saturday is once again shining the spotlight on Vancouver. In that case, mission accomplised. The media is dishing it up and the opposing fans are more than willing to bite.

Lucic shouldn't have had to worry about going to a bar in Vancouver in the first place. The only reason why people are upset at his is because his winning the cup meant Vancouver didn't. Is that a reason to fight him? Seriously, if someone's going to accuse him of a lack of maturity then I'd question the maturity of the accuser.

Get over it everyone. Let Lucic live his life. Attacking him verbally or physically gets us nowhere other than making us look worse.

Sad, why is it everyone has a hate on for someone doing their job? If he was on the nucks people would be saying how great he is.

Although, you would think you would have some security escort you around to keep the clowns at bay.

If a person can't visit their home town then I truly don't know what to say to about this place.

Trouble finds who's looking for it and Lucic was obviously upset after a big loss, hence the altercation. I'd know better and avoid the situation entirely. If Lucic were more mature, he would've too, imho.

Lucic's actions only prove that he's willing to stoop to the level of some other low-brow clown. That's on him, unfortunately. Not on us as fans.

To be honest, it's not so much the idiot who attacked him that gets me. It's the ones who justify him getting attacked by the idiot. You even said yourself the guy who attacked Lucic was an idiot.

You don't need to say anything. Many people who were born here come to their home town and there is no issue. In this case, a known agitator and tough guy who was on the team that beat us in the SCF's was challenged and punched by some Tapout shirt wearing DB. It's between him and Lucic, leave Vancouver out of it.

Well, to be fair, I agree that part of it was brought on himself. However, I don't feel he should be getting attacked in the first place still.

Canucks fans are losers. I am 100% behind Milan on this issue. Look at what Canucks fans have done to him & his family since 2011. Defaced a poster of him at a local rec centre, threw food at his parents during the final, defaced the church he attended (WTF did a church do ) then on Saturday some loser throws a punch at him. Milan has every right to be pissed. Milan is from Vancouver and should be honoured for being a great player. It is pretty sad that he couldn't have a public celebration. Your team lost, GET OVER IT. I hope Milan charges that fool who hit him. I have met Milan a few times and he is a classy guy

For those who say Lucic has no class, do you guys know him personally? Or are you guys just making an assumption because he plays for the Bruins and plays with an edge (something he has done his entire career).

I remember, during the Olympics, one guy on this forum posted a story about Lucic offering him and his girlfriend a ride in his limo, because it was late at night and they were intoxicated. Yep, that's something a guy with no class would do.

I also had the chance to meet him a couple of times and he seems like a humble guy.

Lucic needs to grow up. I'm talking about his childish rant back in Boston. Dissing his hometown and everyone in it because of one drunken idiot. This is the city that supported him with the Giants for years. This is the city that has been lamenting the oversight of the GM in passing on Lucic at the draft ever since he went to Boston. He's had nothing but respect from real hockey fans here.

Even in that video he is surrounded by Vancouverites that are sticking up for him. One laughably shouts "Milan Lucic is beyond good right now!". And one tells Milan that he will act as a witness if he wants.

He is sounding like a big baby.

Oh.....but that doesn't mean I'm not still pssed that he's not a Canuck.

Nothing good happens at 4 am on the streets of any big city. Milan, a word of advice... You are a Boston Bruin... You are in Vancouver after an emotional game... You chose to go to a place where alcohol an who knows what else is rampid... What did you expect?? Do you think you weren't going to run into some hostility? Anyway my point is.. If you stick your hand in fire, you will get burnt. Sorry, no sympathy here, after all I didn't even see any attack. Just 2 drunks guys yelling at each other.

As much as I dislike Lucic people need to leave him alone outside of the arena. He isn't some public spectacle for people to engage every chance they get. Save it for the arena, he is a person and deserves to be treated with some respect.

Our 'fans' continue to make us look bad every chance they get. Vancouver has a really s****y reputation and honestly it is well deserved with some of the crap that goes on here. After the 2011 riot our rep has deteriorated, I can say stuff like this makes me ashamed to be a Canucks fan and call Vancouver home. Take that however you want.

Fine. But drunk guys in meathead altercations aren't the most reasonable bunch.
