If you throw a broken stick or a piece of gear on the player with the puck or his stick it is either a penalty shot if it's in you d-zone or a 2min PP if it's in you offensive or mid zone. I suppose they could make it a refs decision but with the state of reffing in the NHL I kinda prefer that these calls be taken out of their hands.
