Plum Posted August 21, 2014 Share Posted August 21, 2014 Dallas would never trade Dillon for 2 depth defenceman. Dillon was consistently their best defenceman. I wouldn't do the 1st trade, a 1st + a young potential top 4 defenceman and a solid 3rd liner for a young top 4 defenceman isn't a good deal for us. 1) no 2) no Trade 2 isn't as bad, but I would pass. Why so? Dillon is a young top 4 defenceman like Tanev, he's physical aswell. He was one of the Stars' best defenceman. We're giving up 2 bottom-pairing/depth defenceman for Dillon. Schultz is young and has huge offensive upside could be the next Gonchar or Visnovsky - but he isn't helping EDM with the holes he has defensively now so could see him as a trade piece this year for a better two-way blue chip D from a team that has those but lacks what Schultz has. Leeeeeel The lineup is projected to be something like this Sedin/ Sedin/Vrbata Higgins/Bonino/Kassian Burrows/Matthias/Hansen Vey/Matthias/Dorsett Hamhuis/Bieksa Edler/Tanev Sbisa/Stanton Miller Lack For the trades I wouldn't do both personally cause giving up a whole lot for a young dman who blossomed last year isn't worth it.
