Nicklas Bo Hunter
Now that kane is gone the only young top 6 forward we can realistically get is nail Yakupov. To van: Nail Yakupov To Edm: Zack Kassian, Eddie Lack Edmonton wants size and needs goaltending Van needs goal scoring. Piggy Bank
Likely Have to give Virtanen and Hamhuis. Hamhuis js almost UFA and Virtanen is unproven completely. Where as the former 2012 First Overall had a great rookie season, is age 21, and has lots of time to become bure 2.
the_latvian_one
Kassian has no trade value and Lack hasn't proven he can be a starter.
coastal.view
Lol low upside? if you had yak as your prospect you would trade him for lack and kassian ? you really would ? i doubt it . you'd be looking for higher quality talent

Pears
Don't really think a Kassian-Yakupov swap would be that smart a move by us IMO. I think Lack, Corrado, 2nd is something Edmonton could be interested in.
coastal.view
Hmm a 13th overall young power forward + a goalie with starter potential. i would not trade yak for that package you would you clearly rate yak as being better than kassian and lack or you would not do this trade you are just hoping edmontoon can be duped into making that trade they won't you won't get yak for that dream all you want

Hunter_74
Hmm a 13th overall young power forward + a goalie with starter potential. Draft position means nothing. Ask Alexandre Diagle. Look at Zack Hamill. Look at Cam Barker. All of them where drafted higher (not the same year) than Kassian and look how they turned out.

coastal.view
then who cares if Yak is a former 1st overall? the only reason anyone is interested in trading for him is his pedigree otherwise there would be very little interest everyone believes that if they can get him out of edmonton he will blossom we kinda already saw that with peron going to pittsburg and i believe pens gave up a 1st pick in 2015 for peron and yak still has greater value than peron
Monteeun
Hmm a 13th overall young power forward + a goalie with starter potential. you mean, a 13th overall young potential power forward that doesn't play like it + a goalie with possible starter potential ( I'll give you some credit for this one). canuktravella
yaks a second for tanev and lack especially if tanev wants anything north of 4 mill oilers get a good starter and a top 4 d. we get a high second and yaks who could end up being 30-40 goal scorer he needs a new team new start
SwiftN7
Id expect that asking price for yak to go up now that kane is off the table, oilers wont get the same kind of return jets got but im sure theyll try lol
desiboynux4lifee*******
this trade makes sense, im all for it. I would only trade Kassian for a decent prospect, who is in the same issue he is in. Yakupov for Kassian makes lots of senses for both sides, but he is a RFA. So, hopefully he doesn't bolt to Russia lol.

desiboynux4lifee*******
yakupov is worse than kassian both offensively and defensively. I get that, but Yakupov has lots of upside, more than kassian. In addition, Canucks can get a pure sniper, if he regains his confidence. This is what is called a risky trade. This type of trade can either back fire, or you hit the jackpot with a russian sniper in your line up.
