This ‪‎NHL‬ offseason has the potential to be one of the most intriguing and dramatic for NHL coaching jobs as there could be a game of musical chairs with ‪Todd McLellan & ‪Mike Babcock, among others, possibly getting hired by new teams. A lot of the decisions will be made off whether Babcock likes the direction of his current team and chooses to renegotiate a new contract in Detroit at the end of the season or goes elsewhere for a big payday. Other factors will include where Connor McDavid ends up, teams making the playoffs and first round exits(*teams marked). And let’s not forget that there are free agents already out there, the likes of Peter DeBoer, Dan Bylsma, Randy Carlyle, Paul MacLean, Ron Wilson, John Tortorella etc. Coaches that could change teams include:

Mike Babcock

Todd McLellan

‪Claude Julien

‪Craig Berube

‪Dave Tippett

‪Peter Horachek

‪Todd Nelson

‪Ted Nolan

‪(Devils vacant)

* ‪Bruce Boudreau

‪Ken Hitchcock

Vincent Lecavalier is considering retiring & un-retiring if Craig Berube remains the coach in Philadelphia. Vinny's agent explained: "The situation hasn't met either side's expectations in Philadelphia. If Vinny wants the opportunity to end a fantastic career on a good note, it's not going to happen so long as Craig Berube is head coach of the Philadelphia Flyers. I'm sure if Vinny found a good environment ... an opportunity to go to a new team and end on a good note, I wouldn't be surprised if he retired before finishing the term of his deal."

The Blue Jackets have now won 9 of their last 11 including wins against Detroit, Vancouver, Calgary, Anaheim, and Chicago.

People may be sour about losing to them, but they're showing they're a much better team than their record.

It's sad really, not the run they're on, but how injuries derailed a promising season. If they'd been reasonably healthy I think they'd be in a playoff spot ahead of Boston and Ottawa right now.
