bigbadcanucks
Pro surfer Mick Fanning battles a shark during a competition in South Africa and comes away unscathed! Great footage, riff. Gave me goose bumps. Done open-water dives along Shark Alley off the coast of the Bahamas with Stuart Cove with reef sharks and nearly crapped my dry suit on my virgin shark dive (and reef sharks are not man-eaters)...did a cage dive near Cape Town with great whites and did in fact crap my dry suit. I can't even imagine what it would be like encountering great whites, bulls or tigers in open water. Yikes. Link to comment
Derp...
Been surfing in j bay before usually has massive dolphin pods around, but not today. Super sketchy glad Mic's okay. It eas in the finals as well which makes it more crazy. Only 2 guys in the water, good thing water patrol was there so quick. Was wachting live too, so ridiculous Link to comment
riffraff
Surfed places where sharks have been and have bitten people before...indo, Oregon, Panama but never been in he water with one to my knowledge?!?!?!?. Closest thing is a menacing sea lion and dolphins. mick was ridiculously fortunate here. Link to comment
Mr. Ambien
I don't get what the fuss was about. The shark just wanted his board to be in the event too. It should sue them for discrimination. Link to comment
Offensive Threat
If sharks had legs, they'd be really scary. They would have been hunted to extinction. Mankind dont put up with that kinda stuff. Link to comment
KFBR392
That shark should be suspended from any future surfing competitions. Link to comment
Green Building
Oooh. Holy $&!#! Excuse me. Funny reaction from the call guy.I would love to be in the water with a shark at some point in my life. Hopefully as part of a safe dive. To be near to such seasoned predators in their environment would be an incredible rush. Link to comment
