The last "iron in the fire" we had going in free agency, we're very pleased to bring "Swedish" Sebastian Aho into our organization. After putting up better and better numbers in the SHL the past few years, the 21-year-old may have flown under the radar due to sharing his name with "Finnish" Sebastian Aho but not with us. Mike Vanderhoek Posted July 15, 2017 Share Posted July 15, 2017 Developing Story, Sources within the Devils organization have suggested a major trade is being finalized and could even be announced as early as tomorrow. We know the Devils have made it known that they were looking to change up their top four defense group and it's been rumored that offensive blue liner Jared Spurgeon has been made available. The team has suggested over the off season that they will look to get younger and bring along more youth to challenge for spots out of Training Camp, any deal involving a change to the defense core would need to involve a younger piece coming in and it sounds as though this is being finalized with another club. Goaltender Laurent Brossoit brought in via trade as expansion protection to start the off season is rumored to be involved in the deal as well. But at this time we can only speculate that one younger player is headed to New Jersey. On the discord waves the Devils have been connected in talks with the likes of Columbus, Detroit, San Jose, Nashville and even Los Angeles, it's not known which team has secured a " deal with the devil ", could another team be involved?
