Why are ppl so eager to trade a guy that’s actually good? Is our goal to trade our guys that are young and good just because? Brock making 7 mill per is literally just over a million more per season than he makes atm. 30 other NHL teams would gladly pay him 7 or more but the canucks should because god forbid a good player makes 7+ mill TIME TO SHIP HIM OUT!!

I'm not eager. I'm saying if there's a notion he may want to be closer to home, take advantage and get something.

I keep seeing people say that Brock wants to be "closer to home", but I've never seen any indication that Brock is unhappy here.

There isn't.   Drance verified with his team source - there is absolutely no interest in trading Boeser.

The Wild also don't have cap space - they have 15M in dead cap for the next 3 seasons after this one.  Still don't have a C1 or a C2 for that matter and have to pay Kaprizov who expects to be a 10-11M player à la Panarin.  Not the best fit the way they are constructed when they should really spend their money at C.

Guerin has kind of been trying to rid himself of every player that wants to play near home - he felt there was a country club atmosphere and has been trying to change that.   So many players with personal reasons to stay in Minnesota have been let go - Zucker, Parise, Dubnyk, Staal, Suter.

Because it's fun.. remember that.. what ifs?

I get why people do it. I just sick of the Boeser stuff over the last couple years.. I don’t know why on earth anyone would even pretend to trade him. And don’t get me started on the bs rumours that seem to keep popping up. Imagine if we actually traded him for Dumba like holy cow

So many folks were all over BB two seasons ago (now that this one is done). Seemed like every week another two proposals popped up and some folks (was it your Stawns?) were even saying JV would be better we just had to wait another year on him etc.   Simply ridiculous and said it often enough.   BB was our early MVP this season until Demko found his groove.    He's just entering his early prime now, and it's not like he didn't start out with a bang.    Not enough repentance in my opinion.   I don't mind any thread idea for any player.    I've kind of got into the what if's if we traded QHs but haven't made a proposal (yet), but mostly because i see a path where we could open our window this year instead of being patient for one or two more seasons and i'm almost certain it's going to take QHs at least that much time to settle his defensive game down.   Plus four overall with all that PP time is very bad ROI.   Think it was 94 when Gretzky was -30ish .... but scored 78 or so on the PP making his differential a massive plus.     Myers or Edler wouldn't have scored as much on the PP but would have easily ended up with an overall positive effect of 15 or so taking the same 5 x 5 assignments.

QHs could be great, but he also could be a third paring PP specialist like Barrie too.    Best case he's like Brian Campbell 5 x 5, can control the pace of games and entire series, and add twice the offense.   Clock is starting to tick.   So i've also got caught up in recency bias when a young player trajectory isnt stable or upward... so get it too.   But my confidence in BB has never waivered, and i'm biased because i like my D's big and mean.

So back to BB.   To me he's a keeper.   Someone else brought up how these guys are close.   We know nothing about how they are after the games.   Maybe they hang lout maybe they don't, but it sure appears like a very tight knit group, it's for sure something to consider when making these proposals - there is a cost for ripping it apart.

My proposal wouldn't be a proposal really.   It would be why not give last year a mulligan, let them have a proper camp. Insert some youth (Podz!), OJ/Rathbone and let them sink or swim.

It's called making sh!t up.   Why the heck isn't Yzerman our GM?  Or Burnaby Joe!  Why didn't they ever play for the Canucks?  Or Price?  At least Neely did for a short time ... probably drove by Neely's childhood home multiple times, same with Yzermans.   I'm sure Horvat can't wait to become a Leaf ... or maybe a Sen too.

Way less likely.  I think Rathbone will be a future 2nd pairing D.  Rousell, is currently running on an empty gas tank/or relying on gas fumes.

Yes i remember when Hutton was a lock for top four too.

He has decided to live in Minnesota once his playing career is over and was building a home there.  His family stayed there this past season.

Just before Guerin he also refused to be traded as upcoming UFA to Boston who were offering a 1st round pick while the Wild were out of the playoffs.  He instead offered to take a discount to stay in Minnesota rather than just sign an extension after.

The reason I went there with Boes, is because I have family in Calgary involved with alot of hockey, where a certain coaches dad lives and is involved...and hinted maybe Boes would prefer to play else where.

The Tampa trade i thought worked for 2 reasons. A blue line with Hughes and Rathebone would be nice, but small. Tampas cap makes resigning reasonable contracts harder. And RFA friendly cap like Rathebone gives them relief, flexibility, and a possible 2nd unit puck moving d man.

Well that all makes perfect sense now.  I had a dream and in it BB got a contract to play a new real actor version of Shrek, as prince charming of course so pretty sure we might lose him to Disney or Pixar or whomever made that show.

Seriously if your going to do this then name drop at least so folks can verify any sort of connection.   BB is tight with his group.   We shouldn't need to have any anxiety over BB, we own his rights next contract too.

My Dad could probably beat up your Dad, and my late Grandad could beat up anyone on the CDC.  Including my Dad. But i don't bring it up very often.
