I believe I have the final pick for Mr. Irrelevant.

Simon Nemec

Zack Ostapchuk Liam Ohgren Isak Rosen

Olen Zellweger Simon Nemec

Team Sweden

That was as efficient a draft as I've ever been part of. Thanks @AriGold

Second overall Simon Nemec the Slovakian, i am guessing you mean?

Just for Grins:

Overall we have selected (not including goalies, as all teams goalies have been selected, obv.)

15 Canadians: 10 forwards, 5 Defenders

12 Americans: 6 forwards, 6 Defenders

9 Finns: 5 Forwards, 4 Defenders

8 Swede's: 6 Forwards, 2 Defenders

3 Czech's: 1 Forward, 2 Defenders

2 Slovak's: 1 Forward, 1 Defender

1 Swiss: 1 Forward

I think we are saying GOLD: CANADA, SILVER USA, BRONZE FINLAND, lol....curious to see how it comes together.

Earlier this month, Slovakia made history as the first two selections in the draft were from there in Montreal’s Juraj Slafkovsky and New Jersey’s Simon Nemec while Montreal also picked up Filip Mesar later in the first round.  Notably, none of those players will be on the roster as their NHL teams expressed a desire for them to focus on getting ready for training camp.  Several other countries will be in the same situation as their rosters are released in the coming days.

Over in Czechia ...

The Czech national team should probably be in full strength - David Jiříček and Jiří Kulich, who went through this year's NHL draft in the first round and work on the Columbus farm or Buffalo, are also involved.

Svozil is also still in camp, however they have 4 more cuts to make before the tournament.

The lone Swiss skater selected in our draft, Attilio Biasca is in the Swiss Selection Camp and appears to be in position to make the team.

You're reading an article that is out of date.... this was in reference to last Summer's tournament. That's why is says "Earlier this month" in reference to the draft.
