This is exactly what the Leafs need. An overpaid veteran goalie who has won some cups and brings experience hahaha. Who needs defence, or a goalie capable of stealing meaningful games? He didn’t get it done in Ottawa and Toronto’s defence is a dumpster fire. Put murray in Tampa Bay and he would do ok, but they have checking forwards, the ability to win key face offs and defence that knows how to block a shot. Let’s go Laff’s! Hope they win this one.

I put average. I feel the picks they made were good for the position however our team needs more than what we got. There is still time to make moves, check the UFA market etc but I think something could have been done to pick up a dman or some more picks during the draft to improve quicker. Hopefully these swedes are stars and I am wrong.

I’m not ok to just let Myers go yet. He is overpaid and taking up valuable cap but big RHD do not grow on trees. He ate up a lot of tough minutes last year and isn’t as bad as some on here seem to think. If a miller trade brings in a big mean RHD that’s great and may allow for a trade of this nature but right now he is the best we have with very few options

I put yay…but would like to put some conditions on it: 1 - shop him in the off season. If a team is going to overpay with things like big, strong young defence and high quality draft picks you must consider the option. This is off the top of my head but something like JT and Meyers for Bowen Byram (with a clean physical and conditions for games played) and a first. 2 - there is little to no trade protection in the last 3-4 years. We already have a future anchor in OEL and we can’t afford another one.

Sounds like a decent deal to me. I would trade Jake and a third for Domi…might want a little retention to even up the cap though lol.

Sooo…I guess I am qualified to be a GM in the NHL. Edmonton has two of the best point producers in the league, no defence and no goaltending. The team is clearly going through some stuff. Drai is upset, McMefirst never seems happy. The solution you ask? Well clearly Evander Kane can fox this issue! His incredible 200’ game will really shore up the back end. For their sake maybe he can avoid making everyone there hate him for a few weeks and at least put up some points. Decent low price gamble but totally the wrong player for that teams needs

I clicked no in the poll. I openly admit that I don’t know a lot about the guy. My concerns are pretty superficial so I look forward to being proved wrong. This is clearly the case of JR picking up his lackey from his last job. Now maybe he will make a great GM, only time will tell but the optics appear that he is a yes man. JR promoted him before and is doing so again. Why interview other candidates and pretend this wasn’t settled a month ago? Regatdless this is my team and I support them. I was a Benning supporter and I will support Allvin now as GM. Hoping he can get some good value in a trade or two and turn this thing around.

5-3 Vancouver GWG Garland

Holy crap…a hockey game! Go Canucks Go. It feels like a fresh start, if they come out firing I think we can catch Florida off guard. The Panthers are a solid team but I’m hoping our poor record combined with the long layoff means they will take us lightly. Petey, gets a quick one and remembers how to play hockey. Garland just keeps doing Garland things and we jump to an early lead. Put your money down now…Canucks beat the Panthers on Tuesday!!!

I have never been asked once at a hospital if I have had the flu shot. Definitely never needed to prove it in order to drink a beer or watch a game. If you haven’t figured out the limits of the protection I’m curious what rock you are under. Why do you need a booster shot if it “offers great protection”. It wanes after taking it. You will never be “fully vaccinated” as it doesn’t stop you from getting it, transmitting it or dying from it. Keep watching the news and getting jabbed I’ll continue living my life thanks.

Yes, just like the optional flu shot…that no one cares if you’ve had it or not. It offers some protection to people that choose to get it and is needed to be administered regularly to offer the limited protection that it grants.

I’m a little concerned. Not about the score but about the players. If our forwards show up to play this could get ugly. Seattle has a big mobile defence and very little skill up front. I’m hoping to see a technical clinic and not a brawl as I don’t think we have the firepower to win that. The Krakheads are gonna be fired up to play at home and make an impression on their fans. Hoping the boys can keep their heads in a swivel, take an early lead and teach them what this game is really about. Let the rivalry begin.

So your answer to my question is what exactly? I didn’t call him selfish, and I didn’t doubt that he has a legitimate reason not to be playing. I don’t understand why he is still on the salary cap as he is clearly not playing. I know he is not suspended my question is why isn’t he?

All I really ask for and expect from this team is consistent effort. I want the offensive players to make smart passes, take good shots and make goalies lives hell. I want young players to get minutes and improve their game. I want vets like OEL and Myers to play the game we all know they can. The Edmonton game was a great example. The boys were not perfect but they skated hard, forechecked, knocked Duncan Keith into a different time zone. The points will come, the playoffs will happen (or Green and Benning will be gone) and there is no need for a “whipping boy”. At the very least it is a title that should be deserved instead of assumed. Player Name deserved it, Edler never deserved it. Look at what the players are being asked to do when deciding they suck. AHL defencemen being asked to play every night with a rookie partner are going to make mistakes. This fan base forgets that “draft and develop” includes develop. We won’t win the Stanley by making our players not want to be here.

I have an honest question and not looking to make Hamonic look bad. We don’t know what is going on in his personal life but I do know he signed a contract to play professional hockey. Are players under contract not supposed to show up to camp? Why can’t they simply suspend him for breaking the contract and remove the dollars from the cap entirely. We are putting 1.8 million towards a dman that isn’t even playing on the AHL. No I’ll will towards the guy, but if you aren’t going to play then just opt out and be done with it. There were other options to sign in the off season and this does not sit well. Hoping he is able to play sooner than later as our right side D depth chart looks pretty rough. Burroughs looked ok against Edmonton but I doubt he, Schenn or Hunt are really ready for big minutes if anyone gets hurt.
