  1. This could go down as the worst draft pick since Patrick White. Not a good 1st draft for the new management
  2. Those 3 are having pretty good seasons in their respective leagues leading into the tournament. Most fans understand that one tournament does not make or break a prospect but Lekkerimaki has had a horrendous season leading into the tournament and isn't just underwhelming but is actually being benched by his coach for his underwhelming play. It's not freaking out it's mainly just pointing out the obvious, once the excuses for play start coming out it's usually not a good sign for being an NHL player. See Juolevi and Virtanen.
  3. Definitely like the compete level of this kid. With his physicality I can see a potential bottom pairing NHL player. Long way to go with his skating and decision making with the puck but seems like a good solid reliable defender
  4. Unfortunately it didn't take to long for this kid to be trending towards bust. Everyone was hoping he'd show up playing against his peers to erase some fears after his horrible season in Sweden so far. Not only is he not producing he's getting benched. Hard to see much of a future with this kid. Not a good start for the new management group
  5. Pod has looked nervous and often makes a poor play or bad read. The answee isnt giving him more playing time. The answer is bringing him along slowly to learn the speed of the game and build his confidence
  6. Been using for for 3ish years now streaming from the app on my phone through Chromecast. Has always been worth it to get excellent quality on the big screen tv. This year it's been almost unwatchable. Constant buffering. Had to switch to "other sources" to watch the game against Philly. Will be cancelling soon if doesn't fix itself
  7. Chaisson if he makes the team Got a feeling Miller might be the guy if things don't go well this year
  8. Does Petan Kill penalties? I'm just looking at this lineup and wondering who's going to kill penalties. Dickenson for sure. Does the coach trust Lockwood?
  9. I think it's just Podz personality and we are seeing why he didn't get playing time in the KHL. He plays much too reserved and timid while he is getting used to the speed of the game. I think he'll get there but it's going to take some time for him to gain his confidence and pick up his pace. Eventually in every league or tournament he's been in he produces but he just seems like a cautious player that need time to adjust
  10. Without any compensation if Eichels neck is hooped and he never plays again? I don't know, I'd need to educate myself more of Eichels condition and the chance he returns to full health
  11. As it stands I would say the trade is basically a wash as Eichel and Dahlin a superior players (Dahlin not so much but his draft position and potential gives him an edge) but the fact that Eichel might not play at all this year brings the trade back to a wash. Vancouver would need to be compensated if Eichel has long term complications. For every year Eichel plays less than 10 games Vancouver gets their unprotected 1st for up to 4 years. So if Eichel doesn't play Vancouver trades Petey for 4 unprotected 1st. Would be a $&!# trade for Vancouver as we are not in a position of needed 4 1st round picks we need a 1st line center but at least we would get compensated and might be worth the risk of possibly getting a healthy Eichel.
  12. Excited to see what him and Lockwood can do against actual NHL competition
  13. He played solid, I was impressed by his mobility. Unfortunately Calgary iced such a $&!# roster there wasn't much of a chance to see how he defends against quality NHL players to get a gauge on where he is at. Hopefully they give him a chance to play against better competition as we have a glaring hole on the right side with the potential of Hamonic not playing.
  14. eesh. Without Hughes and Hamonic this D is scarce. It's going to be a rough go when Poolman and Myers is the top PK unit. Even with Hughes in the lineup I'm not so confident in this D core's ability. Who's going to play with him if Hamonic isn't in the lineup? It would have to be Poolman right? Hughes gets a lot of minutes so a guy like Schenn would get exposed and him and Myers have proven to be ugly. OEL - Myers Hughes - Poolman Juolevi - Schenn? Is Poolman good enough to cover for Hughes? Would OEL - Myers be able to defend well enough to play against opponents top players? The more I question this D core the more I miss Tanev
  15. Ya will be interesting to see how that plays out, especially if Pettersson continues to hold out. If Pettersson is back I could see Miller playing center and Dickenson being 4th line center but without Pettersson Wouters looked pretty good last night. Maybe Petan comes in and plays in the top 6 in a scoring role.
  16. Thought Klim looked as good as any forward out there not name Boeser, Petan or Hoglander, offensively anyway. Tough game to judge the offensive guys as Seattle dominated the play but you can tell Klim plays with confidence and with instinct. You could hear him calling for the pick and had some nice dangles to create space. Will be really interesting to see his development, so far he is ticking a lot of boxes. Doesn't exactly fly out there but didn't look all that slow either.
  17. Onhockey.tv used to be my go to and now it's been compromised by $&!#ty malware and advertisements. Guess we're $&!# outta luck without NHL center ice?
  18. The problem with OJ is that from the very 1st training camp he came to red flags were being raised when guys were blowing passed him. Immediately people were questioning if he was worth the 5th overall. Since then OJ has had injury after injury and has never really showed any reason to not have doubts in his ability to play and skate at an NHL level. This isn't a case of a guy who shows incredible potential when he's healthy, this is a case of a guy who's shown glimpses occasionally of being an NHL level defender with his positioning but at almost every level he has played at since being drafted there have been question marks and excuses for his play. His skating for whatever reason just doesn't look NHL level and coming into camp looking like he hasn't been putting in the work to improve is not helping his chances
  19. Be interesting to see him in some pre season games to get a better idea of where he is at but with what we've seen so far his skill level is good enough for the AHL and he doesn't lack size which is a consideration with some 18 year old prospects in deciding if they are ready to play against men. Exciting to see him develop this year
  20. That's the first positive report of Juolevi's play that I've heard. He was on the ice for every goal white scored in the scrimmage, got turnstyled by Horvat and one guy who was there thought he was the worst player on the ice for both teams.
  21. Was Juolevi on the ice for every goal white scored today? Looked like it from the highlights but kinda hard to tell sometimes. Got absolutely turnstyled by Horvat as well. Not been a good showing from him
  22. Rathbone looks like a young stallion out there. Still lots of training to do as he looks very raw defensively but man does he move well out there. Really snaps the puck around and very deliberate in his movements. If he can grow into a defensively sound player as to go with his abilities he's going to be a stud
  23. Ya it's going to be awkward having Rathbone and Juolevi trying to learn the ropes in the NHL at the same time. Eventually I see Rathbone as a 2nd pair guy and Juolevi on the 3rd.
