Playing in October in Toronto and Montreal.  Wish there were other Canadian dates.  But I may figure out a way to make it happen - a trip out if it.

meshuggah dominates.  The problem is that everything sounds like Jewel after listening to them.

More!

SICK

Shouldn't this be put in the 'old has beens a trying to do what they used to do but are 30 years too late' thread?

seriously.  The 2 new Metallica songs are pretty good.   Going back to their roots it seems.    Too bad their last 5 albums made me hate them.

Agreed, REALLY happily surprised at Hardwired and Moth.

Just enjoying the nostalgia waiting for Slayer/Anthrax in 3 weeks

Meh

i lasted till a few seconds after the vocals started.

theyll just never be what they were in the early days. For me, I just went on a nostalgic slayer binge for the last couple months and it's head and shoulders better imo.  If Metallica had a drummer they would have been slayer level.  If you go back and listen to songs like hallowed point and behind the crooked cross, the drums alone simply dominate.  When you're air drumming as much as air guitaring you've found a legit metal band.

south of heaven and seasons:. Just wicked albums.

Looking forward to seeing Children of Bodom at the Commodore and Arch Enemy and Trivium at the Vogue in November. I've seen all of them before. Alissa White-Gluz is smokin' hot. Love Arch Enemy, especially the older stuff. COB is great too. Trivium is pretty good, but their sound is changing. (no more growling/scream vocals?)

Trivium is back to that.   Matt simply hurt his voice and needed therapy for about 18 months and turned over live unclean vocals to Corey who does ok but not as comfortable in front of a mic.   Still not back to Like Light to Flies or In Waves but solid new effort is the new album for the three tracks I have been able to find.   They are awesome live and not sure people realize how solid their early stuff is as well.
