Kazmanian Devil
Lucky win today, I'll take it. Eriksen came alive after moving to the middle, stop playing him on the wing Poch. Great to have Walker back, he looked good. Now Dier can play CB. Bony terrorized us, exactly the type of player we need up top. Hopefully someone like him will join in January. Mr. Ambien
http://www.uefa.com/uefachampionsleague/news/newsid=2197251.html There will be a number of reunions in the UEFA Champions League round of 16 following the draw in Nyon, with three of the ties having been played in last season's competition. FC Barcelona and Real Madrid CF saw off Manchester City FC and FC Schalke 04 respectively at this stage in 2013/14 and will hope for a repeat performance this time round. Chelsea FC beat Paris Saint-Germain in the quarter-finals and are paired with the French side again, while there are historically significant ties between Juventus and Borussia Dortmund, and Arsenal FC and AS Monaco FC – in the latter case due to the Arsène Wenger connection. Round of 16 draw: 17 February & 11 March Paris Saint-Germain (FRA) v Chelsea FC (ENG) FC Shakhtar Donetsk (UKR) v FC Bayern München (GER) 18 February & 10 March FC Schalke 04 (GER) v Real Madrid CF (ESP) FC Basel 1893 (SUI) v FC Porto (POR) 24 February & 18 March Manchester City FC (ENG) v FC Barcelona (ESP) Juventus (ITA) v Borussia Dortmund (GER) 25 February & 17 March Bayer 04 Leverkusen (GER) v Club Atlético de Madrid (ESP) Arsenal FC (ENG) v AS Monaco FC (FRA) • FULL SCHEDULE Road to Berlin Quarter-final draw: 20 March Quarter-finals: 14/15 & 21/22 April Semi-final draw: 24 April Semi-finals: 5/6 & 12/13 May Final (Olympiastadion, Berlin): 20.45CET, 6 June Draw facts • Dortmund overcame Juventus 3-1 in the 1997 UEFA Champions League final in Munich; the Italian team had won 6-1 over two legs in the UEFA Cup final four years earlier. • Paris took on Chelsea in last season's quarter-finals, the Londoners retrieving a 3-1 first-leg defeat with a 2-0 victory at Stamford Bridge to progress on away goals. • Manchester City-Barcelona is another repeat of a 2013/14 encounter, the Spanish club prevailing 2-0 in Manchester and 2-1 at home in last season's round of 16. • Real Madrid overwhelmed Schalke in the round of 16 last term, winning 6-1 in Gelsenkirchen and 3-1 in Spain; Cristiano Ronaldo scored four times in the tie. • Atlético and Leverkusen played out two 1-1 draws in the 2010/11 UEFA Europa League group stage. • Shakhtar and Bayern, and Porto and Basel have never met before. • While Arsenal and Monaco have never played each other before, Arsène Wenger was in charge of Monaco between 1987 and 1994, winning Ligue 1 (1988) and the Coupe de France (1991). Caboose
Southhampton having a really poor run of form. Lost 1-0 to a League 1 side today as well.
Guest
Southhampton having a really poor run of form. Lost 1-0 to a League 1 side today as well. I guess it was only a matter of time before they came back down to earth. I'm really hoping the Hammers can find a way to stay in the top 4; would love to see them battle for a Champions League birth.

Caboose
BvB (Borussia Dortmund) continues it's entertainingly bad slide by losing to Bremen. They trying to get relegated? lol. They tried to replace Lewandowski by committee and are floundering. Same thing happened with Spurs when Bale left and now Liverpool without Suarez. Dortmund's fall from grace has just been that much more spectacular.

otherwise
City played good today without a striker. Too bad Zaba missed on his shot. He's been on a roll lately. I got up to watch it and then went back to sleep when it was done. Early games are rough.
Kazmanian Devil
Deserved win today for Spurs. Our attacking 4 (Kane, Chadli, Eriksen, Lamela) was fantastic. Love having Walker back. Dembele for Delph swap is rumoured. Please let it happen.

What's added to the perplexity of it is their decent CL group stage performance, vs. mediocre Bundesliga. Guess we'll see what they're really made of in elimination. 87Crosby
Imagine if Dortmund go in a Bundesliga slump and get relegated but win the Champions League. That must make it the first time a team in a second tier league play in the CL.

Malkin Cookies
Dortmund are an interesting team this year. They play well in CL and win their group but they are trash in the Bundesliga.
