      BOARD SPECIFIC RULES   02/05/2016

These are board specific rules, meant to try to make the Trades and Free Agent Signings forum better for everyone. YOU MUST READ AND ABIDE BY THESE FORUM RULES.

      1. If an event happens, wait a few minutes before posting, in all likelihood, someone has already posted it. We don't want numerous threads on the same event, so please search before posting.

      2. Please provide a clearly identifiable topic title for your thread so that user's can search for and find the appropriate thread easily. The title should include any and all teams involved, as well as player names or other personnel involved as appropriate. This is to help avoid duplicate threads and to make searching easier. For any and all comments, please use the Topic Description box instead of the title.

Affixed to the front of your title should be a label that identifies the type of transaction that is taking place. For all trades use [TRADE]. For all signings use [SIGNING]. For all waiver-wire transactions use [WAIVERS]. For all rumours use [RUMOUR].
For articles or news that don't fit into the above categories, affix an appropriately label of your choice such as [NEWS], [ARTICLE] or [MISC].

      3. All trades, signings, rumours and other news MUST include a linkable source. Simply posting the name of the source is not enough. Effort should also be made to copy and paste the full article, or at the very least the relevant portion of text from the source to the first post of the thread.

The following are NOT considered valid sources: Any links to posts or threads on other message boards Any links to personal blogs Any news heard on the radio that does not have a link to an audio vault or podcast Any news seen on television that does not have a link to online video Any news spread by word of mouth
Hockeybuzz, Spector's Hockey and The Fourth Period are currently acceptable sources.

The NHL Line, Brochu is Hockey and NHL Hockey News by saint Pako are currently invalid sources.

      4. Clearly misrepresenting the contents of your thread or posting false Trades/Signings/Acquisitions to send the forum into a frenzy will be taken very seriously and will result in an automatic suspension.

      5. Please put all proposals into the proposals forum and NOT this forum. Proposals found in this forum will be moved or deleted without warning.

      6. Please report any threads or messages that violate these or other board rules to the administrators or moderators() Do not respond by posting spammy messages such as 'IBTL', and 'LOCK AND BAN', or by attacking other users. The report button is located to the bottom left of every post.

Thank you for your co-operation and please PM one of the Moderators or Administrators if you have any questions, concerns or suggestions regarding this forum.

Ya 7.8 mil is ridiculous for a 60 point guy. We got that in Burrows for 2mil. Beyond Vancouver, there isn't any other competitive Canadian teams right now, so I'm not surprised with this decision.

Pretty sure I remember reading the Canucks were on his shortlist at the deadline, I think? I don't think it's necessarily he doesn't want to play in Canada, it's just the teams he would accept a trade to happen to be in the U.S. Don't know why Van wouldn't be on his list now if they were a few months ago, perhaps they never showed interest so no reason to add them to a list now?

I never wanted Nash here anyway. Great player, but ridiculous contract, both the length and the cap-hit. Would cost way too much for us also

compared to what...Kovalchuck, Crosby, parise, suter, ovechkin, price, rinne ??? 7.8 for six of his prime years is not a bad deal....we will never get a player of that caliber for such a short term...ever.

This doesn`t really make sense... usually a Canadian Hockey player dreams of playing for a Canadian team!

At this rate Nash would waive his ntc for any team now, its only a matter of time before he refuses to play and demands a trade, Dany heatley style

I wasn't too keen on Nash in the first place, and yes I realize it is pure media speculation that he doesn't want to be in Canada but none of the teams on his list are Canadian either.

LOL no they just value privacy. There are a lot of great players who've won it all that don't want to play in Canada.

funny that many people are saying the same... but lets forget contracts for a minute...

sedin sedin nash

how can any canucks fan NOT want a legit, goal scoring, top line power forward? seriously... and to top it off, hes CANADIAN - and not only canadian, he has the talent to be a shoe-in for team canada who has ridiculously stacked offence. we want to get bigger? we want to get tougher? we want the sedins back to 100 points? face it - we want nash.

anyhow just my 2 cents.. its not the end of the world if he signs elsewhere, i just find it silly that so many canuck fans are like "nash? no thanks i dont like his contract" ... well it must be the contract because there isnt really much not to like about rick nash..

and since i've stayed away from nash threads i'll make this point here...

iginla - 7 million cap hit

malkin - 8.7 million cap

thornton - 7 million

eric staal - 8.25 million

HMMM looks to me like if you want to keep an all-star power forward you have to shell out some moneys.

If he doesn't want to play in Canada, clearly that means he doesn't/can't handle the pressure of a big market that actually cares about hockey. Let him rot in Columbus.

I work in Pennsylvaina, I am completely immersed. The hockey awareness is basically non existent. It's like major league lacrosse, lots of die hard fans but not a part of the culture.

Nash is totally defined by the sport and a Canadian national yet he elects to only play in the USA?

What a greasy, greedy, coward.

Grow some
