Garrison
Identical deal to Marchand. And while they are close to the same type of player, Burrows>Marchand everyday of the week baby!
ButterBean
A bit disappointed that it wasn't less, but I guess he deserved it considering he was a great bargain these past few years.
D.Doughty
fair deal for both sides.
Green Goblin
I'm pretty sure we made the right signing today, and totally a pay cut! http://www.tsn.ca/fantasy_news/feature/?ID=31999 Burrows was ranked 12 spots above Doan.

wallstreetamigo
Good signing. 4.5 million is fair value. And after his last contract he didn't owe the Canucks another discount, imo.
Canuck Surfer
I'd take Selanne, and I'd take Jagr; but on one year deals this year instead of Doan; not instead of Burrows who will be a great role player for us for another 5 years! Backes, you have a point; but its not like we could trade Burrows for him anyways. I'm erring on the side of realistic! I'd take Selanne and Backes ahead of Burrows, but no one else is clearly better at that price point.
Moonshinefe
Ah Burrows... so many memorable goals. One of my fav Canucks, great to hear he'll be around for years to come.

n00bxQb
Don't get me wrong - I love Burrows. His work ethic has made him one of my favourite players on the team. But I still think 4.5 is pretty high for a player who's stats are clearly inflated by playing with the Sedins. I would have been happier for 4 for sure, and I honestly thought that would be around what he'd sign for. Seeing Doan sign for not even a million more a year makes me wonder what kind of deal we really got. Burrows is rugged and tough, but not particularly strong and not exactly a hard-hitting presence on the ice like Doan would be.
SEAN HARNETT
Great deal for both sides. Burrows does so many great things. One thing that might have gotten over looked is his defensive abilitys and penalty killing skills. He has come up clutch on many occasions aswell! VancouverStyle
Awesome signing by management, Alex is so deserving of this contract. I'm a little suprised by the NTC, oh well good for Burrows.

vancanfan
From the ECHL to an $18 million contract. What a path he has took. Worth every penny Alex, glad you are going to be around for a long time now.

westcoast
I like Burrows, but time will tell if giving 4.5 million dollar long term contracts to the entire core will keep their drive to win the cup high enough. When these guys are making less they're training like mad men fighting to get through to the next level.I hope these guys can still continue to rise and push themselves after they've essentially already cashed in.
