Would you rather Ryan Kesler sit out the whole season and let Ryan recover the whole year and be back 100% next year or do you rush Kesler back this year when Kesler is not 100% and risk him getting injured this season and possibly effect his long term health. Now, I know that some of you will pick that Kesler comes back this year, but think about it. If Kesler plays this season, he won't be at 100% and I think that if you say rest Kesler for this year so he can be 100%, you can't go wrong unless I'm missing something.

Kes needs to sit until he is 100%, as should all players. Winning is great, and all, but not at the risk of the health of your players and your franchise.

Wellllllll he's expected to be 100% before the end of this season sooooooo,

I'll put him in this season, and pass on giving him an un-nescessary, un-called for vacation B)

100%.

Like his agent said, I want him to play the next 10 years, not the next 2 months

I'd say we sit him till the playoffs or at least 5 games before the playoffs. Then see where he is at and if the doctors still say he needs more time then rest him till next year.

He should be 100% before the playoffs, aslong as he is good to go for the playoffs that's all that matters, if he needs alot of time in the regular season off that is fine, but I don't know if we can shut him down the entire year, since we will need him if we want the cup.

late march and about 20 games so kesler wont be rusty and find some line combo as I suspect there will be constant line juggling until kesler is back

One day some of us will look back on the year and look at the chicago, and most of us will realize that it was a small bump in the road to the cup

What you're missing, is that once Kesler is healthy, he'll play. If that's this year, then he'll play. If it's next year then he'll play then.

There is no substitute for games played. He's probably gonna suck for a while regardless if he returns completely healthy or not. Dropping him in the playoffs after missing a whole season is gonna look just like last year.

I am sure he will comeback by Mid March.

The bigger question is what position will Van be in at that time. If we were slow to the gate and looking out of contention than yes, I would rather him sit out as long as possible.

He needs at least 20 games before the playoffs. The first ten games will rusty and the next ten he should get his timing and wind back.

Kesler doesn't suck, his mounting injuries SUCK!
Hopefully he'll be back in BEAST mode ready for playoffs this year.

Holy crap dude. I want a cup, but that's this man's life we're talking about. He has kids, I'm hoping he can run with his kids after he's done with hockey, He deserves a cup, but also a good life.

He needs to be healthy. Rushing back hasn't done him any good. However long it takes, we'll have to wait.

Is it possible that Kesler's injury isn't as bad as it was made out to be and that he'll be back some time in January/early-February? I have a feeling he has been a little too "cautious", with his rehabbing process, as both he and his agent were hesitant to cut off his lockout paycheques...

Dudes just bein honest and believe me , kesler would take that lifelong limp for a ring. Plenty of athletes do more for even less gain . Look at rgIII , 8 months rehab theyre estimating

I think a lot of people feel the same. If that is the case then they will not just say ok he's ready to go at the start of the season as it would look a little suspect. Bet he gets the all clear in three weeks into the season. And don't say Ryan wouldn't do such a thing... If your willing to dive like that on the ice then?
