(Trade) Oilers acquire Fistric from Dallas

Doubtful Brenden makes it out of training camp. Jordie Benn with a slightly higher chance. Cody Eakin probably with a better chance than both, but they still need to acquire somebody.

One of the three young guys COULD make it. Still would make Rome - Young Guy the bottom pairing and no extras.

Goli - Larsen

Daley - Robidas

Eakin - _______

Rome, _______

is the way I look at it.

Also, read that both Peckham and Sutton have some sort of injury, so acquiring Fistric now makes even more sense.

The Stars also have 3 3rd picks in the next draft - their own, one from the Grossman deal and this one.

A 3rd + _________ for Keith Ballard to round out their defense?

Difference between this and the Canuck signings is that Fistric will actually have to play some decent minutes. In the end he will be seen to "suck" because of this. Whereas our acquisitions of Barker and Vandermeer who more or less do suck, will be fine because their role is to replace Aaron Freakin' Rome.

Strange player. Went from by far the best Stars +/- in 2009/10 (+27), to their worst in 2010/11 (-10). Quite a swing. Now the Stars aren't sure if he is an AHL or NHL defenseman.

28th overall pick in 2004 - who has fallen off the chart. Underlying numbers aren't impressive.

If the Oil fans found the Barker signing humorous, the funny thing here is that they gave up a 3rd for this guy and will be paying twice the cap hit for him...
