Canucks have recalled David Booth from Utica. Darren Archibald has been re-assigned to the Comets. http://ow.ly/qKwNV

Hopefully this wakes him up. I really doubt it though.

Wow.
I assume he's waiver exempt as it's a conditioning stint?

Hopefully he regains his game down in Utica. At least it gives their fans something to be excited about. He's at least an nhl calibre forward and can provide Utica with some offense for the short time he'll be down there. Maybe win their first game.

Conditioning is an understatement, when you take that little of a hit and are out 2 weeks+ .. I hope he comes back with fire and ready physically as well, good luck to him.

Good. He is healthy now, so it's up to him to show what he can do for us.

Makes sense to me... aside from a wake-up call, he also needs an actual conditioning stint. Not sure where he slots into the lineup past the 4th line the way Kassian-Richardson-Archibald played last game.

Kind of over hearing about Booth. Would love to see this guy gone. Physically he's a specimen and has all the tools, but his lack of hockey IQ is just too far gone. Can't teach that.

If this doesn't wake up Booth nothing will. That is outside of a fresh start on another team..

They can keep him down there for up to two weeks before they would have to put him on waivers.

And the nightmare continues.... at the very least, I hope they buy him out when possible and spend that money on raises for Richardson and Santorelli. You know, players who actually make a difference and play with heart.

they play 4 games this week, I dunno where you got the 11th from... I wonder if he'll be in their lineup tomorrow night or not.

My first reaction to this was "ouch". Even if its a conditioning stint, it definitely sends a message that he needs to play better and if this doesn't get him going I don't know what will.

He will. He's an NHL player but he's just stuggling. He will be at least PPG for Utica.

It's not sending a message. It's a legitimate requirement if he is going to crack the line-up this season, especially given how out of shape (relatively) he will be after the list of injuries he's had. This is just like Bert says...it is what it is.

I honestly think he lacks motivation more than anything. I question how badly he wants to do this and wonder if he likes being a hockey star and the $$, but doesn't have his heart in the game. Just my own perception.

This actually means he's close to coming back and he's really there for, what they say, a conditioning stint. Kinda like what Salo had to go through one time after coming back from in injury.

Players Nikolaj Ehlers have been compared too by the fan base of the Vancouver Canucks.

1 Pavel Bure

2 Markus Naslund

3 Nathan Mackkinon

4 Jonathan Drouin.

5 Jonathan Tavares

combine results.  Ehlers 5'11 162 lbs of solid rock.

All you guys are way too hard on Booth. The guy plays hard and goes to the dirty areas. His game is high risk, high reward. Watch this little highlight video and see where he is during most of the plays.

You can talk about his IQ in general as being suspect but his hockey IQ is solid. He knows where to go and he definitely has an abundance of skill.

I believe he will step up his game when we need him to.

Yours and others' perception. I don't think Booth is geared for a popular team's market.
