scarecrowtruth
We need to get the show on the road. Take a risk on an NHL ready prospect like Virtanen. Obviously he's out for the time being with injury, but all this cutesy player development stuff isn't working very well.

Virtanen is one of the youngest players in the draft so he would probably just be sent back to junior for another year anyway.

Canucks1219
Any of the Euro's playing in Europe. anyone who's played 4 seasons of Major Junior. Anyone who's 20 or older. Quick question, does this make Sam Reinhart eligible? He's technically played in 4 seasons (10-11, 11-12, 12-13, 13-14) but only 4 games in the 10-11 season. Is there a number of games needed to be considered a season?
Provost
Everyone keeps saying that this is a weak draft year. Not sure I agree. I think the reason everyone is thinking that is because there no clear cut #1 pick this year. There's about 5 different guys that "could" be chosen #1. You don't really know how a draft class will really turn out for about 3 - 4 years, but I see a lot of depth in the first couple of rounds. Lots of guys who have the skills to become really good NHL players. I just don't see the next Wayne Gretzky in there, but that's alright! That type of player doesn't come around all that often! Doesn't mean this won't be a good draft class! I think it is a weak draft at the top end (no guys who are certain to be franchise players).... but it seems like a draft that has a ton of really safe picks of guys who have a good chance of being decent NHLers. After the top 3... there are a dozen guys who a team could pick to fill needs without much drop off in talent level, just different players. A guy like Ehlers could go anywhere from #3 all the way to #15. Virtanen could go from #6 all the way to the end of the 1st round. I think we are going to see a lot of picks where the top guys either drop or rise considerably from these rankings.

I think we will be in for some big surprises in this draft.

motzaburger
Nylander is the only one in this draft who is a guaranteed franchise player. I’d like to think so too. Might be able to throw Reinhart into the mix. Ekblad will be a 50 point d-man I think. I see Nylander’s skill at the top of the draftees and he will grow more and become dominant. Westcoasting
Nylander is the only one in this draft who is a guaranteed franchise player. There are seldom guaranteed franchise players in the draft. Just take a look back at the top five picks in the last 30 years and look at all the average players produced.
Canuck Surfer
Nylander is the only one in this draft who is a guaranteed franchise player. Guaranteed? He's my fave pick at #6 but does come with risks, not a guarantee. I also would pick Draisaitl and presume him gone when we pick; the guy is big and slick, like Jagr! An extremely dangerous pick!
