Imagine how good NYR's would be with Cherepanov on their roster. That kid was going to be a star

Kind of does. Where a player gets drafted is a hell of a lot less important than how good of a player they'll be.

That is a completely different dicussion. This thread is about the ISS rankings. This discussion is about how accurate the ISS draft rankings are.

If you want to tangent into something else, then start another thread.

The 'it doesnt matter where a player is drafted but only how good he is' thread. ::D

That kind of discussion would tend to be fairly vague and subjective. By all means, have at it.

Predicting draft orders is a difficult business .

Hey look. There is your hero Mr Beach. The guy you claimed in hindsight you wouldnt draft until the third round.

So Perlini gets 1 assist in 7 playoff games this year and people are interested in this at #6???? Sorry, I want guys that are at their best when the games matter.

I think the issue with Perlini is the inconsistency. He is loaded with talent but last year his totals were non existent . If there is one top prospect who is a complete question mark its Perlini in my opinion. He could end up an all star or in the ECHL.

you guys seriously need to lay off the draft threads. you've ruined each one thats popped up.

Its okay. Absent Canuck just ko-ed everyone by posting in this thread. Everyone has gotten confused, and don't even know what to say.

How is the hell does projecting the NHL draft order, have to do with anything? Rankings are based on who the scouts think, will be a better player. It's not a damn mock draft. What Absent Canuck says defies logic. Complete mindblow.

There's no reason for anyone to continue. Good Game.

I know it's not a popular opinion on here, but one of the prospects I want the Canucks to draft at 6 is Fabbri.

Not many people in 2012 expected Hampus Lindholm to go as high as #6, but he did anyways and it's payed dividends for the Ducks.

Fabbri reminds me a lot off Gallagher on Montreal. He's not the biggest, but he plays the type of game you need to win in the playoffs. I'd much rather have smaller guys who are excellent forecheckers as opposed to big players like Rick Nash who play a perimeter game come. That what wins you playoff games, not this apparent myth that you only win in the playoffs entirely with size.

A centre with 1st/2nd line upside would make us very strong up the middle in prospects. Who knows, we may very well pick the second player in a row to win the OHL MVP ;)

My top-10 rankings are:

Reinhart

Bennett

Ekblad

Nylander

Dal Colle

Draisaitl

Fabbri

Ehlers

Virtanen

Ritchie

After looking at the 2010 draft list that was accidentally revealed, organizational choices are much different than consensus pick from the likes of TSN. I could see Fabbri around 6/7 on some teams lists quite honestly.

Niagara was a terrible team, this year. 11 games under .500, yet they still made the playoffs and took North Bay to 7 games. I don think one single player stood out offensively.

When Perlini isn't scoring, he does all the little things to get the win.

What is everyone's current thought on Julius Honka?

During the year I heard early 2knd round, then as high as 10 or 11? Summary of opinion by memory was 17.

Worth us trading to get a pick in this range?

I think if he doesnt get picked in the first round then he will go shortly in the 2nd. Seems to me he is rated a little farther back than some would think. Id like to snag him in the 2nd round for sure. That or Demko (#1 rated Goalie). We need some young goalies in our system.

Don't get me wrong now, I really like Fabbri as well. The thing is, it would be a waste to pick him at six because he could be had later on in the first round. I think it would be fair to predict that the Canucks will trade for a second first round pick in this draft. New GM coming in, new President in place, both need to make a name for themselves and often newly appointed management make deals. This means that the Canucks have the chance to pick a very talented prospect at #6 and then pick Fabbri with the second first round pick. I think that would make a lot of sense because I do think there is risk surrounding Fabbris development. Safe pick at #6, high risk - high reward pick at #18-#24.

Come out of the first round with one of the picks ranked #3-#12 and Fabbri.

Great start for new management.

If anyone cares to read a few profies regarding Alex Tuch they might find him very interesting. Character plus kid. I like what I have read about him, however never personally seen him play. Doesnt seem like he has any poor attributes. He will be 6-4 220+ player. My pick. :)

I think it would be wise to draft Thatcher Demko or any other goalie in this draft with our second or third pick. Lack is 26 and our 3 other goalies are 24, so by the time Demko or another goalie is entering the AHL those guys will be entering there prime.
